To the surprise of absolutely nobody, Guitar Hero 5 appeared in the middle of September 2009. The slightly irritating thing is that yet another Guitar Hero title, in the form of Band Hero, was released soon after (November to be exact) – and is essentially the same thing, but with different songs.

85 tracks from 83 artists are available to play along with, and there are also special appearances from Johnny Cash and Carlos Santana. Many more are also for sale via download, including a Rolling Stones live pack and contributions from Blink-182 and Kiss.

If you fancy the XBox 360 version of Guitar Hero 5, with a guitar, click here to buy it for £49 from Tesco. PlayStation 3 owners can click here to buy their release for the same price from the same retailer, whilst Wii gamers can click here to buy their version for £49.99 from Powerplay Direct. Definitely one of those cheap games recommended to pretty much everybody!
