With a whole host of terrible games based on the franchise, not too much was expected from Transformers: War for Cybertron – which makes the fact that it's not only the best Transformers title in some time, but also a great third-person shooter in its own right, quite surprising.
Taking place prior to the Transformers: Prime animated series, when the Transformers still lived on Cybertron, the game has two distinct campaigns (one for the Decepticons and another for the Autobots). Also included are a range of online multiplayer modes, in which you control a customised Transformer of your own.
