In a strange move, many versions of Spider-Man: Web Of Shadows are different from each other. It’s a 2.5D side-scrolling brawler and platformer on the DS, a side-scrolling beat ‘em up on the PlayStation 2 and PSP, and a full-3D action game on every other console.
What’s consist with every one of them is the ability to choose whether to align with the good guys or the bad guys, which is similar to Spider-Man: Friend Or Foe. The new combat system is worth mentioning as well, because you can now actually fight on walls - giving Spidey a distinct advantage.

When the original DS was released it was rightly regarded as one of the best handheld systems to come along in some time. Not only was it quite easy to use, but the possibilities for unique gaming experiences seems almost endless.
A small complaint was that it was rather chunky, so in 2006 the Nintendo DS Lite console was born. It’s much slimmer and lighter than its predecessor, and the buttons have been moved around a bit to make it even easier to use than before.
Tesco are currently selling various colours of system for £89.97 each. Click here for the black one, click here for pink, click here for silver, or click here for the standard white version.
Remember to enter the voucher code Freedel at the checkout to save on postage costs, and to search this site to find some cheap games to go with your new console!

The fact that Magical Starsign is the sequel to GameBoy Advance title Magical Vacation is a little bit irrelevant really, as it wasn’t released in the West at all. It’s a pity, because I’m sure that GBA owners would have enjoyed it immensely.
Anyway, you play as a student at a magical academy who must try and rescue both your teacher and your classmates who have mysteriously disappeared. There’s also an extra dungeon to explore when you take part in the multiplayer mode.

Kyle Hyde, a former member of the New York Police Department searching for his old partner, unravels a mystery shrouded in the Hotel Dusk’s past that may lead him to the answers he is looking for.
Hotel Dusk: Room 215 is an excellent graphic adventure game that has been critically praised for its brilliant storyline and engaging character dialogue. It really is very enjoyable, I must say.

Elite Beat Agents sees you tapping and dragging on indicated locations on the DS touch screen in time to the rhythm of the music, in order to score points. While you’re doing this, the top screen shows comic-style scenes of people in tough situations get cheered up.
All of the tracks are cover versions of popular songs by artists such as the Village People, Madonna, David Bowie and The Rolling Stones.

As a longtime semi-fanboy of Pro Evolution, it almost pains me to say that this year’s FIFA is much better than PES 2009: Pro Evolution Soccer. Konami simply haven’t done enough to improve on the last one, whereas E.A. appear to be listening to what the fans want to see.
The "Be A Pro" mode is a great little idea, where you take control of one player throughout his career and help build up his stats. Combined with some excellent online multiplayer play, as well as the standard career options, this is football gaming at its best.

Wii owners can get their version for £17.73 from The Hut by clicking here, whilst HMV are selling the PlayStation 3 (click here) and XBox 360 (click here) releases for £24.99 each.

SimCity Creator follows the same basic SimCity formula that sees you managing a city and placing residential, commercial, and industrial buildings alongside facilities such as police stations, hospitals, and stadiums.
However, you can also now customise the look of the buildings by giving them different themes - from Egyptian or Roman styles through to ones that look like confectionary.
The Hut are selling the DS version for £12.71 - for more information, click here. Wii owners can click here to buy their release for £17.99 from Game.
As good as Guitar Hero: On Tour (which is still £22.71 at Tesco, by the way) is, the strumming detection is a little bit off. Thankfully, this has been improved upon in the sequel which is titled Guitar Hero: On Tour - Decades.
There’s also a much better career mode, where you can play either lead or rhythm guitar, and you can now also play against other rockers via the wireless network - this also allows you to play tunes from Guitar Hero: On Tour, which is a nice addition.
To preorder Guitar Hero: On Tour - Decades (with the Guitar Grip) for £24.99 from Play.com, simply click here.
