Guitar Hero II

Guitar Hero II contains an impressive selection of tunes to play along with.

Unfortunately this doesn’t come with the guitar, but I would strongly recommend that you buy one - it makes the game a million times better.

Click here to get this PlayStation 2 title for £17.98 from Amazon.

Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 2

Serph, leader of the Embryon, rambles aimlessly through the lifeless streets ahead of him. In the Junkyard, his Tribe fought a ghastly war, trusting the light of Heaven would alleviate their suffering. Ultimately, Serph’s world disappeared, along with the comrades who stood by him. All that expected him in Nirvana were uninterrupted streets littered with the mute remains of human statues. The Promised Land was nothing but a new hell…

SoftUK are selling PS2 title Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 2 for £9.99 - for more details on this cheap game’s availability, click here.

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3

If you’re a Dragon Ball Z fan, you’ve probably been crying out for some sort of online multiplayer mode.

Well, you’ll be glad to know that Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is the first in the series to have such a feature.

Click here to buy the PlayStation 2 version for £16.99 from DVD.co.uk, or click here to get the Wii release for £19.99 from ShopTo.

Jumper

One of the most disappointing films this year has to have been Jumper - a good-ish idea in principle, but very badly excuted.

The game is sadly more of the same, with very little effort or thought having been put into it.

If you feel you want to subject yourself to this torture, Asda are selling the PS2 version for £12.93 - for more details, click here.

The Sims 2: Castaway

Imagine you are standed on a deserted island, and were being controlled by somebody - now you know what it feels like to be a Sim in this game!

Look after your people by building shelter, finding food and, ultimately, discovering how to get off the island.

FIFA 08

FIFA 08 is the first time for ages that E.A. have got a football game near-enough dead on.

This is as good as Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (which is great itself), and is well worth getting.

Asda are selling this game for a decent price on pretty much every console - click here to get the DS version, click here to buy the PlayStation 2 one or click here to buy the PSP release (each are £12.93). The other console versions are £17.93 (click here for the PlayStation 3, click here for the Wii and click here for the XBox 360).

Quite unsual that a retailer would have a cheap game on every system, but who’s complaining?!?

Crusty Demons

The Crusty Demons are a gang of bikers who tour the world performing outrageous bike stunts and participating in all manner of crazy skits with motorized vehicles.

During an attempt to perform a world-record-breaking 5-rider triple backflip, they are interrupted mid-flight by the Devil who informs them that, unfortunately, they are all about to die. The Devil offers them immortality - the ability to crash time and time again and still live to get up and walk away - and tricks the gang into signing over their souls. In order to win their souls back, the Crustys must win the "damnation game," completing a giant checklist of devilish tasks in order to entertain the Devil. This checklist will take them across the world to cause mayhem from New York to Tokyo.

Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock

The Guitar Hero series is such a simple idea, and yet it works so well - push buttons in time to your favourite rock tunes.

Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock is the latest game and includes songs from such artists as Guns ‘N Roses, Metallica and The Kaiser Chiefs.

Click here to buy the PlayStation 2 release (minus the guitar) for £17.99 from Play.com - if you’re interested in any of other Guitar Hero games, take a look here (I believe Guitar Hero II has gone since that post was made).

Mercury Meltdown Remix

For players that may not know how to play Mercury Meltdown, the concept is easy to grasp but tricky to master. Players will start in one Laboratory, and will unlock others as they progress through the various levels that comprise that stage of the game. Taking control of a blob of mercury, you’ll be forced to navigate levels with an assortment of traps, pitfalls and other hazards, which can strip sections of mercury away from the main blob. A gauge on the left side of the screen indicates how much mercury remains on a level at any point in time, and there’s a line indicator that lets you know how much mercury you have to keep so you can activate pressure plates, switches and other objects in the world. There’s a time crunch on completing the puzzles within each level as well: A countdown timer lets you know what the average time is to finish a stage. If you manage to reach the finishing zone in time, you receive a happy face within the timer; if you take too long, an angry face takes its place.

ShopTo have PS2 title Mercury Meltdown Remix available for only £4.99 - click here for more details on how to buy this game.
