Any way you look at it, the American version of Godzilla really wasn’t very good - the story was very weak, and the people in it (bar Jean Reno) were mis-cast. It’s good news then that Godzilla: Unleashed doesn’t feature anything from it, and instead focuses on the much better Japanese franchise.
This 3D fighting game is set during a series of unnatural disasters on Earth, where large crystals have appeared bringing with them the Vortaak alien race. Over 20 monsters are featured from different eras, along with a couple of brand new creatures (Krystalak and Obsidius).

PlayStation 2 owners might not have a SingStore like you get with the PS3 versions of SingStar, but they do have a lot of different titles to choose from - many of which often appear for reasonable prices.
SingStar: Popworld contains another 30 songs for you to sing along to from artists which include Blink 182, McFly, Robbie Williams, and the Black Eyed Peas.

In a move that seems synonymous with video games based on Disney films (see the different versions of Wall-E, which are available from £14.93 as part of the Asda September sale), there are some differences in the DS and PlayStation 2 releases of Disney’s Meet The Robinsons.
Both are prequels to the movie but the DS version is a first-person shooter shooter with a simple storyline, whilst the PS2 release is a more in-depth game with a bigger story and additional mini-games.
Click here to buy the DS version for £4.75 from Blah DVD, or click here to get the PlayStation 2 release for £4.98 from Gamestation.

Pokemon always seemed a bit tame, so it’s nice to see that Monster Lab takes the catching part and uses it for finding ingredients to make the perfect monster instead of a funny little ball of fluff.
You take on the role of an apprentice scientist who performs a series of experiments to create a monster. Once finished, use the monster to explore the land - finding ingredients for more monster parts, defeating other monsters in combat, going on quests, or competing in mini-games as you go.
Click here to buy the PlayStation 2 version for £19.99 from Amazon, or click here to get the Wii release for £24.99 from Game. Definitely one of those cheap games to keep an eye on.
Any fans of High School Musical are bound to enjoy High School Musical: Sing It! where you get the chance to sing along with your favourite characters from the first two films, to various songs from both.
This is basically Singstar with a license tacked on, and features a total of 30 tunes for you to destroy. Sorry, sing.
Click here to buy this PlayStation 2 title on its own for £9.99, or click here to get it with a pair of microphones for £24.99 - both of which come from Choices UK.

The very first Guitar Hero is very, very difficult to get for a decent price so I would strongly urge you to consider getting it while it’s available for under £15. For a title that’s been out for a couple of years, it’s surprising how few retailers have ever decided to reduce it.
This features 30 popular rock songs spanning five decades, from the 1960s up to 2005, in addition to bonus tracks from independent artists. You don’t necessarily need the guitar to play it, but it does add a whole new dimension to the experience if you do.
Amazon have this PlayStation 2 game (which sadly doesn’t come with the guitar) available for £14.98 - for more information, click here.
