You can get some crazy games for the DS, but none match the weirdness of Elite Beat Agents. You play the part of an elite group of agents who solve problems by singing and dancing. Yes, this is truly bizarre.

As the music plays, tap the screen and trace rhythm patterns to keep the beat - whilst you do this, the story plays out on the top screen. Great, addictive fun it is as well.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers Of Darkness is an epic adventure, played out as though you yourself were a Pokemon. That’s one dream ticked off the checklist then…

There’s a new Friend Rescue option in this, so if you faint you can send an SOS message via the wireless network to someone else who has a copy of the game. How useful.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers Of Time is basically the same as Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers Of Darkness, except that there’s different Pokemon to catch.

Damn those blokes at Nintendo - we have to buy all versions of every Pokemon game to be able to catch them all. I can’t take it any more!

After the success of the Brain Training titles, there’s been a continuous supply of other games designed to keep your brain in tip-top condition. Whether they actually make any difference or not is up for debate (I’d say they do help somewhat).

Brain Challenge is a collection of 43 different games which have each been designed to specifically help improve your brain. 3 levels of difficulty and a multiplayer mode add to the longevity.

Kim Possible: Global Gemini, on the DS, is based on the Disney TV show Kim Possible (surprisingly enough). Kids everywhere should love this, but I’m thinking that girls will probably like it more than boys. I could be wrong though.

When Gemini escapes from jail, it’s up to you to stop him from rebuilding his evil empire and brainwashing Global Stations around the world. Travel the world and bring Gemini to justice!

I like the DS. I like the DS a lot - probably because it’s the first handheld I’ve ever owned (never been a big fan of them up until now). The variety of game on offer helps as well.

There’s many different colours available, so if you’re particularly fond of a certain colour you’ll more than likely be able to get a DS console which matches it.

Instore at Asda there’s a great deal running - get the Nintendo DS Lite (any colour) with copies of High School Musical: Makin’ The Cut and The Legend Of Spyro: The Eternal Night for £95. Fantastic!

The DS seems ideal for snooker games - I mean, the stylus is practically a snooker cue as it is. Sort of. Anyway, World Championship Snooker: Season 2007-08 is one of the better snooker titles available for the console.

With all 10 licensed Championship Events and shot commentary from the likes of John Parrott and John Virgo, this is as good as it gets.

Race Driver: Grid is one of the best racing games so far this year, and it’s out at the end of July on the DS. Will it match up to the PS3 and XBox 360 versions? In terms of graphics, probably not - but everything else should be near-enough identical.

Race across the US, Europe and Japan and then compete against other players online - you can even take part in a condensed version of the legendary Le Mans 24 hour race!

Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures £16.99

Whoever came up with the idea of turning well-known film franchises into Lego video games should get a medal - they’re simply excellent fun that everyone can enjoy. Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures is the latest release, and remember to look out for Lego Batman later this year as well.

All your favourite scenes from the first three Indiana Jones films are present and correct, all in the comical way that Lego games do it. Additionally, as you could mix and match characters in the Lego Star Wars series, you can the same thing in this game - with some hilarious results!

Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire Of The Rift is a tactics and strategy game with battles, missions, swords and sorcery - all set in the popular Final Fantasy series universe.

The DS is probably the best handheld console currently on the market. With a great selection of games to choose from, as well as the ability to play GameBoy Advance titles, you really can’t do better.

Originally the DS was quite chunky, but since then the DS Lite has been released - it’s much slimmer, and also has an easier button configuration.

Play.com have the Pink Nintendo DS Lite available for £89.99 - click here for more details.

If the colour puts you off, you can pay a little bit more and get one as part of the ShopTo reductions if you feel like it.
