When aliens from Planet FM plot to invade Earth, alien Omega-Xis escapes to warn a courageous boy (Geo Stelar). Together, they must face the aliens on the electromagnetic system known as the Wave Road, and combine to become the ultimate champion for Earth: Megaman!

In Megaman Starforce: Pegasus, players explore towns and interact with people in the real world while the action-packed battles take place in the virtual "Wave World". Enemy encounters take place on a three by five grid in a 3D perspective, where players use a portfolio of Battle Cards that each have distinct attributes and attack powers. As the story progresses, players will acquire additional cards to build an arsenal that reflects their personal strategy. Players can also connect wirelessly via the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection with friends to create a Brother Band network, where they can share cards and get status upgrades.

The Nintendo DS Lite is a lighter and brighter version of the highly successful Nintendo DS, which has sold more than 4 million units across Europe and 16 milllion units worldwide.

Nintendo’s latest console includes all the existing features of the Nintendo DS, yet includes a variety of distinctive changes which truly sets it apart from other handheld consoles. Castlevania: Portrait Of Ruin £11.99

Created by Koji Igarashi, who devised the long-running series, Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin gives the player control of two different characters. The pair - vampire hunter Jonathan Morris and Charlotte Orlean, a young girl with magical abilities - must work to thwart a plan to resurrect Dracula’s Castle and unleash a reign of evil upon the unsuspecting world, all within a new World War II setting.

The new setting captures the chaos and suffering the era, with thousands of lost souls wandering the world in search of salvation. Desperate to escape the limbo within their exist, the misguided spirits seek to rebuild Dracula’s Castle from its ruins, and are lead by a pair of evil Vampire sisters out to resurrect their master’s home for their own nefarious plans. Thrown together, Jonathan and Charlotte must combine their unusual skill sets to defeat the plans and restore harmony.

Retaining the same 2D platform realms for which the series is famed, Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin uses a side-on view to oversee the scrolling stages. Players can switch freely between Jonathan and Charlotte as they progress through the levels, using their skills when appropriate. In addition to Jonathan’s weapon expertise and Charlotte’s spell-casting, both characters can utilise all-new ‘Summon’ attacks to raise demons to assist them against the Vampire sisters’ army. Similarly, more conventional weapons can also be found on route, and saved for use against the hardier monsters that await in the shadows.

The price of this DS title has gone down slightly since we last looked - it’s now £11.99 at HMV.

Super Mario 64 DS actually features more stars to earn than the original and also has a bunch of mini-games that can be played against three other players.

The landscape and the characters all look familiar. This is the opening castle area of Super Mario 64, only with a few DS twists thrown in. Up to four players can link up using the wireless capabilities. Players move familiar characters like Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and Wario around the 3-D landscape, exploring and looking for stars. While one screen shows the player’s character position, the other provides an overall map of the area. Touch a spot on the screen to pop the camera over to another player’s position, or to take a close-up look at the castle.

The no holds barred, sci-fi fighting franchise is reborn on the Nintendo DS. Guilty Gear: Dust Strikers features all 21 Guilty Gear characters from previous versions and now the battle takes place on multiple levels across both DS screens with up to 4 players at once. Players will have to navigate different types of floors and traps as they battle versus CPU characters or via Wi-Fi connections in "battle royal" rules where the last person standing is the winner.
