Even though the 1989 arcade game of the same name is much better, TMNT: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has still managed to sell just over a million copies. Proof positive that people will buy any old tat, I think you’ll agree.

This is based on the 2007 CGI movie TMNT (which was fairly average), and is a fairly run-of-the-mill platform title. Kids may get some enjoyment out of it however, as well as Turtles fans.

Click here to get the PSP version for just £1.99 from Sendit.com, click here to buy the PlayStation 2 release for £4.93, or click here to get the Wii version for £11.93 - the latter two both being from Asda.

Phew, that’s a lot of cheap games!

It’s quite difficult to tell from the boxart (and the title of the game itself), but Flipper Critters is actually a pinball game. One of the only ones on the DS as well, I think.

Instead of just taking place on a standard pinball table, this takes place in different locations - from town squares and mountain valleys, to towering castles and the surface of the moon! As it’s a Nintendo game, don’t be too surprised to hear that there’s also some mini-games included.

base.com have this priced at £7.99 - click here for more details.

Monster House From £10.89

The Monster House game is based on the 2006 kids film of the same name, so you can pretty much guarantee that if your little darlings liked it that they will like this game as well.

Strangely the gameplay in this is a little bit like Resident Evil 4 and is much better than you would expect a kids game to be, albeit toned down so as not to scare them half to death!

The World Ends With You seems a little bit harsh - if you don’t manage to complete assigned missions within a seven day time-limit, then you get erased from existence. Imagine if that happened in reality (there’d be no-one left!).

The battle system makes full use of the unique capabilities of the DS, as combat takes place across both screens and attacks are carried out by doing certain things on the touchscreen (or shouting in the microphone).

base.com have this available for £17.99 - click here for more details. It’s also part of a 2 for £30 offer (click here to see the full list), which means you could actually get it for £15.

The Megaman series has been a little hit and miss over the years - thankfully, for the next outing (on the Wii) the developers are going back to the classic 2D side-scrolling that we all know and love.

Megaman Starforce: Pegasus is quite different from other titles in the series, as it’s a turn-based battle card game - a little bit like Top Trumps. With robots. And a decent storyline to hold it all together.

DS Lite Offers

Previously we featured a few Wii deals that look very tempting - now there’s a couple of DS Lite offers that may very well be of interest. Both will be hard to get at Christmas, so order now to avoid disappointment.

Instore at Toys R Us you can get either a black or white DS Lite, with copies of Disney’s Meet The Robinsons and The Golden Compass, for £99.99.

If this isn’t up your street, for the same price you can get a black, pink, turqouise or white console with a copy of More Brain Training: Dr Kawashima’s How Old Is Your Brain? from HMV - for more information, click here.

Cars is a Pixar film which means that kids automatically love it - they’re so easy to please (not!). Cars: Mater-National is based on the movie, and sees you racing as characters from it across five different competitions.

Nintendo love developers to include tons of mini-games, so you won’t be surprised to learn that this is full of them. There’s over 20 in fact.

With the Wii version of Animal Crossing due out next year, why not consider getting Animal Crossing: Wild World to tide you over until then? I must warn you that you may very well end up becoming unsociable after playing though.

The basic idea behind the game is that you control a character in a town. To survive you must make friends with the other inhabitants, make money (by selling stuff) and generally make sure that the town is running well.

I like the DS. I like it because the way it has been designed means that most games have a unique element about them - much like the Wii, in fact.

Doodle Hex is yet another title that takes advantage of this. Use speed, accuracy and tactics as you draw runes in order to make spellbook combinations. Over 250 challenges totalling just over 100 hours of gameplay await you.
