Trackmania DS £17.99

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed - to do this, simply click here. Thanks for visiting!

The original Trackmania was an exciting and fun driving game, and Trackmania DS promises to be more of the same - plus a whole lot more. It’s quite an interesting title actually, as it combines elements from puzzle games to give a very unique experience unlike any other racing game.

Along with the three single player modes there’s a multiplayer option, although there’s sadly no online mode (for shame). An excellent track editor is also included, which means that you should never really tire of it.

Soul Bubbles is a puzzle game in which you play as a young shaman apprentice whose duty is to care for lost souls. Create protective bubbles to keep them safe, whilst travelling through the 40 levels contained within eight different worlds.

This is a beautiful little game which keeps you entertained from start to finish, but which can also leave you tearing your hair out in sheer frustration at how difficult it is!

If you fancy this DS title, click here to get it for £9.89 from Sendit.com.

As the DS uses a stylus to control things, it’s inevitable that painting titles would appear. Paint By DS challenges you to recreate classic artworks using the stylus, from artists including Van Gogh and Cezanne.

There’s a total of 15 different paintings to complete, each of which has their own level of difficulty. Reviews have been mixed, probably because you need a bit of interest in fine art to appreciate what you’re doing.

Pop in to your nearest Asda and pick this DS game up for just £8.

If you’ve been visiting this site for any period of time, you may have noticed that I’m quite harsh on games based on movies - I only do it to warn everyone about how bad they generally are. I’m aware that some people enjoy crap games, which is fine, but I’d hate to see someone buy one on the expectation of it being good.

The Incredible Hulk is yet another title to add to the ever expanding list of mediocrity. At least Edward Norton provides the voice for Bruce Banner, although I doubt this would be a deal-breaker!

If you fancy the Wii version, click here to buy it for £9.97 from PC World. PlayStation 3 (click here) and XBox 360 (click here) owners can get their releases for £9.99 from Comet, whilst DS players can click here to buy their version for £11.49 from Forget The Rest.

There’s a few Nintendo console deals around just now that seem worth mentioning, so I thought I’d do just that! Of course, there’s going to be a mad rush around Christmas, so my advice would be to pick one up before then as stocks may very well be low.

The Nintendo DS Lite is much smaller than the original DS, but doesn’t lose anything that it had. The ability to fit it in your pocket is handy, although I suspect that not many people are that bothered about keeping it in their pocket - lucky the games available for it are brilliant then.

Game currently have an offer where you get any colour of console that you wish with a free game (the titles are Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain?, High School Musical 2: Work This Out!, or Wall-E). If you fancy the look of this, click here for more details.

The Nintendo Wii has been something of a revelation since bursting onto the scene, mainly due to the fact that pretty much anyone can pick up a controller and play - from the very young to the very old! You use the Wii Remote much like a sword, tennis racket, or whatever else you can imagine (or it can also act like the old NES controller too).

Every console comes bundled with one Wii Remote and a copy of Wii Sports, which helps to display the unique features that the system has.

Game have a few different bundles available, and these include:

Wii console plus Star Wars: The Force Unleashed £179.99

Wii console plus Super Mario Galaxy £179.99

Wii console plus Wall-E £179.99

Wii console plus Big Beach Sports, Rayman: Raving Rabbids 2, and Super Mario Galaxy £199.99

DS Lite £84.97

The DS Lite is, without doubt, the best handheld console available today. With a great catalogue of games and the ability to play GameBoy Advance titles, I doubt anything will be able to match it for some time - although there’s apparently going to be an announcement from Nintendo this week about yet another kind of DS.

Tesco are selling three different coloured systems for £96.97 each, but we get them for lower than that. Enter the code XXLV96 to get £12 off a £60 or over spend, which brings the price down to £84.97.

Click here for the black coloured console, click here for the snazzy silver system, or click here to get the white one.

Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures From £15

The DS version of Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures is slightly different from the others. Special abilities and elements can be controlled using the touch screen, the built-in microphone is used to blow out torches or inflate rubber rafts, and Star Wars characters (including Wicket the Ewok and Luke Skywalker) make special appearances.

All other releases feature six chapters per movie, with notable scenes from each being recreated in the tongue-in-cheek way that only Lego can do. 83 regular characters are available to play as, and these can be mixed and matched to create all-new characters.

Zavvi have the DS release available for £15 - click here for more details. PlayStation 2 owners can get their version for £17.99 from Woolworths by clicking here, or if you have a PS3 click here to buy it for £19.97 from Currys (which is also part of the Currys instore games sale, by the way).

Diddy Kong Racing on the Nintendo 64 drew comparisons with Mario Kart for some very obvious reasons - both feature characters driving carts, as well as items which can be used in order to cheat win.
