One of the highest profile games to be released on the 3DS arrives early December when Mario Kart 7 hits the shelves in time for the Christmas market. As with previous versions of Mario Kart, there is ghost data which records the previous times and lines of laps to see if you can beat the best time. As ever with Mario Kart there are addictive races, fun levels and annoying other characters that make it difficult for you to pass them or simply catch up if you fall off the track. Mario Kart 7 is launched in December 2011 and is set to be a popular Christmas present for all Nintendo 3DS owners.

Full Description and Features
Adding to the already popular Mario Kart series, the latest in the Nintendo 3DS line-up is Mario Kart 7. With two new characters, Honey Queen and Wiggler joining the rankings, and the ability to drive underwater and hang-glide, it lifts the game to a whole new level. Using for the first time the gyroscopic handling effect, the player almost feels right there inside the go kart.
The karts can be customised such as changing tyres, lowering the weight of the karts, and using additional gadgets. The hang-gliding attachment makes collecting coins and launching off ramps to reveal new paths, that little bit more fun than just driving on the roads. Tricks can be performed mid-air to avoid being shot at and dodge attacks from other karters.
There is a multi-player game for up to eight players, which means that you can set up a whole series of races against all of your friends. As the karts can be upgraded, it means that generally slower players can be faster and this makes it more of an all-round game that no one knows just who is going to win. With the new levels and underwater feature it spreads the reach of the Mario Kart series to new heights and adding in the gyroscopic effects, it just became that little more difficult to win.

With 32 different tracks now revealed, playing Mario Kart 7 should be varied and keep you amused for hours on end. However, you should soon be able to make playing Mario Kart even more dramatic by using the official Mario Kart 7 Steering wheel for the 3DS. An unusual move for the handheld console, and details of when this will be available in the UK (if at all) should be known following the release.
