Wii Console (With Wii Sports, Mario & Sonic At The Olympics And Wii Accessory Pack) £190

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed - to do this, simply click here. Thanks for visiting!

Most people like to get a game or two when they buy a console, but with the Wii you don’t have that problem as Wii Sports is included with each one sold - actually, I wonder if they’ll ever stop doing that?

Anyway, Zavvi have a nice little deal running instore at the moment. For £190 you get the system itself (which comes with the aforementioned Wii Sports, a Wii Remote and a Wii Nunchuk), a copy of Mario & Sonic At The Olympics and a Wii accessory pack.

Great deal, as you’re essentially paying £10 for the Wii accessory pack and Mario & Sonic At The Olympics.

Okami was the last truely original game on the PlayStation 2, with it’s beautiful visuals and revolutionary design (which is very reminiscent of traditional Japanese art). This epic tale combines folklore and mysticism to create a very immsersive experience.

It’s out on the Wii next week, and takes full advantage of the Wii’s unique control scheme - use it like a paint brush to perform various different manoeuvres.

Click here to buy the PS2 version for £9.99 from HMV, or click here to preorder the Wii release for £23.92 from Blah DVD.

And Then There Were None £13.99

Point and click adventure games are usually quite good. Sadly, And Then There Were None is the exception to the rule - not what you’d expect from a title based on an Agatha Christie novel.

Ten people are invited to a lavish estate on an isolated island where they are each accused of murder by their mysterious host. As the tension mounts and dark secrets are revealed, the guests start to get bumped off one-by-one…

In order to get this Wii title for £13.99 from SoftUK, all you have to do is click right here.

Collections of different games in one bundle are always good, because if you get bored of one you have a few more to choose from. Namco Museum Remix, on the Wii, contains 14 all-time classics for you to try.

With Super Pac-Man, Dig Dug and Galaxian being a part of this you’ll probably never tire of this title. Each game takes full advantage of the Wii’s unique control scheme as well, to add an extra element of fun.

Powerplay Direct are selling this for £16.99 - click here for more details.

We’re always getting told how bad video games are for society, so I suppose titles like Bioshock and Bully: Scholarship Edition must mean we’re doomed. The very fact that a GAME could have such an effect on someone is very ridiculous anyway.

Back to Bully: Scholarship Edition - it’s essentially Grand Theft Auto set in a school. No prostitutes or guns though, instead you get schoolgirls to kiss and slingshots to fire.

Madden NFL 08 From £12.99

I always feel a bit better inside when I see a new Madden game every year - it’s almost like a reminder of bygone years, or some kind of nonsense like that. Yes, I’m a little mad.

Anyway, Madden NFL 08 is the latest in the series and has a bunch of new features such as a read-and-react system, skill drills and a Fantasy Challenge mode (where you draft your dream team and advance through different levels of difficulty).

There’s many console versions available for decent prices. The PS2 release is £12.99 (click here), the PSP version is £13.99 (click here), the XBox 360 release is £14.99 (click here) and the Wii version is £18.99 (click here) - all from SoftUK.

Ben 10: Protector Of Earth £14.49

Ben 10 is a hit show on the Cartoon Network that most kids seem to like a great deal - heck, I’m sure I remember hearing that Gordon Brown was a bit of a fan which must mean something (no jokes about politicians acting like babies here, I’m afraid).

The Wii game Ben 10: Protector Of Earth sees you joining Ben and his family on a journey across America recover the lost pieces of the Omnitrix, to ultimately save the Earth from certain destruction - like a junior version of Dark Sector, almost.

Click here to pick up this game for £14.49 from SoftUK.

We’ve haven’t featured a Wii bundle for at least a week, so it’s about time for another one!

If you pop in to your local HMV, you should be able to pick up the Wii Console (along with copies of Wii Sports and Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures, as well as a Wii Accessory Pack) for £189.99.

This is great as you’re basically getting Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures for nothing.

The Wii Remote’s unique control scheme means that any game on the Wii takes on a new dimension. WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2008 is no different, as it has controls that make you look like a madman (then again, which Wii game doesn’t?).

With an updated roster, including the introduction of ECW stuff, this is as good as it gets in the way of wrestling video games.

Game have this title available for £14.99 - for more information, click here.

Other console versions of WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2008 are still available for reasonable prices.

Deary, deary me. I’ve ranted about how bad The Golden Compass game is many times before on this site, but still it keeps on appearing - to be honest, the only reason I mention it is that I’m aware some kids may like it.

For anyone over the age of seven or eight I’ll say avoid this like Frank Lampard avoids a diet, but everyone else will probably get at least a little bit of enjoyment out of it.

If you wish to subject yourself to the horrors this title will bring, click here to buy the Wii version for £9.99 from SoftUK.
