With Christmas ever approaching, I’m expecting the Wii to be out of stock almost everywhere soon - heck it’s happened the last two years, so chances are that it’ll happen again.

Anyway, to beat the rush it might be a good idea to get one now. Which means the appearance of this new deal is very welcome indeed.

Game have the Nintendo Wii, with a copy of Mario Kart Wii, priced at £179.99 (which basically means you get Mario Kart for free) - for more information, click here.

EA Playground £9.95

EA Playground is inspired by Wii Sports and, as such, comes filled to the brim with various mini-games. There’s also a single player campaign, but I can imagine it’s quite different than the type of campaign you’d get in titles like Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

Anybody can play the mini-games on offer as they have very easy controls. Dodgeball, tetherball, slot car racing, and paper plane racing make up just some of what’s on offer.

Monster Lab From £19.99

Pokemon always seemed a bit tame, so it’s nice to see that Monster Lab takes the catching part and uses it for finding ingredients to make the perfect monster instead of a funny little ball of fluff.

You take on the role of an apprentice scientist who performs a series of experiments to create a monster. Once finished, use the monster to explore the land - finding ingredients for more monster parts, defeating other monsters in combat, going on quests, or competing in mini-games as you go.

Manhunt 2 £24.99

After initially being banned for too much violence, Manhunt 2 is coming out on the 31st of October. The main criticisms levelled at both this and the first one are the seemingly realistic ways in which victims are murdered - apparently this might influence people to try it themselves.

Although Manhunt was acclaimed for pushing the envelope and being a great gaming experience, this sequel is not quite as good. The story is weaker and it’s a bit forgettable, but it is as grim and brutal as its predecessor.

Resident Evil 4 is probably one of the best games ever made - seriously, if I was to list all the good points about it, I’d be here all day. This sixth entry in the Resident Evil series has also won a whole host of awards.

The Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition features brand new controls that bring you closer to the action than ever before. The Wii Remote allows you to aim and shoot anywhere on the screen and can also be flicked in order to instantly target an enemy with a knife.

Argos have reduced the price of this to £14.99 - click here for more details.

Alone In The Dark From £17.99

Alone In The Dark was originally called Alone In The Dark: Near Death Investigation, but the makers instead opted to go for the same name as the very first in the series - how ruddy bloody confusing!

DVD-style episodes allow you to choose to start the game from the beginning, or simply skip to a different section if you get stuck. The interchangeable first and third person camera helps make solving the puzzles a little easier, and the environment plays a big part as anything can be picked up and used as a weapon.

PES 2008 (Pro Evolution Soccer) is the very first game in the Pro Evolution Soccer series to appear on the Wii, and is also the first to be released on a Nintendo console outside of Japan.

This version is radically different from all other console versions, thanks to the Wii’s unique controls. Pointing the Wii Remote at the screen and directing players by dragging them with the on-screen cursor, and passing by pointing to the desired space or player and pressing a button makes for a much more innovative way of playing.

Okami £23.99

One of the most underrated games of all time (and I don’t say this lightly!) has to be Okami. Sales have been disappointing for both the Wii and PlayStation 2 versions, which would normally mean that it’s bad - this is far, far, FAR from the truth.

Okami combines Japanese myths, legends, and folklore to tell the story of how the land was saved from darkness by the Shinto sun goddess Amaterasu, who has taken on the form of a white wolf.  The beautiful graphics and innovative gameplay help make for a gaming experience like no other, especially on the Wii.

Jumper is a terrible film that came out earlier in 2008 and did quite well - proof positive that people will watch any old shit at the cinema. Jumper: Griffin’s Story is a game based on this piece of nonsense, and it too is quite bad.

The very fact that the Game Rankings website have it done as an average of 23% based on various reviews will probably tell you everything you need to know.

XBox 360 owners can risk scarring themselves mentally by buying it for £9.99 as part of some Gamestation deals, or PlayStation 2 nutters can pay £2.99 to The Game Collection by clicking here and praying it’s not as bad as I’m trying to make out.
