The Wii needs absolutely no introduction, as I’m sure that you’re sick to death of hearing about it - trust me when I say that the nearer we get to Christmas, the worse it will get. It’ll probably be out of stock all over the place as well.

Wii Sports is included with every purchase (for now anyway), and is a good example of what the console does well, simple games that anyone can pick up and play. It doesn’t matter if you’re 8 or 80, as the controls are dead simple.

Click here to buy the Nintendo Wii (with a copy of Wii Sports) for £159.99 from Woolworths. Be quick though, as this offer will surely sell out quickly.

Dave Mirra BMX Challenge is a bit like Tony Hawk on a bike, except that this is much, much worse. Still if you’re a fan of the sport or the man himself, I’m sure you’ll get some enjoyment from the game.

Three modes are present (exhibition, quickplay, and career), with the career option having three levels of difficulty. There’s no multiplayer though, which is disappointing.

The Wall-E game is based on the movie of the same name. Interestingly, there are variations in the game based on which console you buy it for - something which you don’t see all that often.

On the Wii there are nine explorable worlds and three head-to-head multiplayer modes, the DS version features fourteen worlds and unlockable clips from the film, and for the PlayStation 2 release you can use music to summon help whilst travelling through the nineteen different worlds.

Click here to buy the Wii version for £15 from Asda, click here to get the DS release for £17.99 from Game, or click here to buy the PS2 version for the same price of £17.99 from Game.

PSP owners might like to know that their release is also £17.99, but this time it’s part of the Powerplay Direct sale from a couple of weeks ago.

The Wii version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 is slightly different from the other console releases, in that you use the Wii Remote in the same way that you would use a real golf club.

The game itself allows you to play on any number of different courses, with a huge amount of professional players to choose from. You can now also create your own golf course by grouping together various golf holes.

If you’re after value for money, look no further than Wii title Namco Museum Remix - or Half-Life 2: The Orange Box if you’re an XBox 360 owner. It contains no less than 14 different games, all of which are classic arcade titles you should know and love.

The original arcade versions of Cutie Q, Dig Dug, Galaxian, Galpus, Mappy, Pac & Pal, Pac-Mania, Super Pac-Man and Xevious are featured. So too are re-vamped versions of Galaga, Gator Panic, Motos, Pac ‘N Roll, and Rally X.

If you fancy this collection, click here to get it for £9.99 from Play.com.

The Kung Fu Panda video game is very loosely based on the film of the same name. As far as movie tie-in titles go, this is actually alright - I can’t quite believe it myself!

Although it’s mainly intended for children, it’s challenging enough for older gamers to at least give it a shot. The multiplayer mode also adds dome more fun, and you won’t be surprised to hear that there’s a few mini-games thrown in too (just for a change).

Powerplay Direct are selling the PlayStation 2 version of this for £16.49 (click here), Amazon have the DS release for £17.98 (click here), and Tesco supply the Wii version for £24.71 (click here).

As Space Chimps is a game based on a film, you can pretty much presume it’s average. However it’s a kids film, so they may very well enjoy this.

Ham III, who is the grandson of the first chimpanzee in space, teams up with Luna and Titan on a space adventure, where they must journey to an unknown extraterrestrial planet.

Play.com are selling the Wii (click here) and XBox 360 (click here) versions of this game for £17.99 each.

Battalion Wars 2 is the sequel to one of the best GameCube titles ever made, Battalion Wars. This mixes third-person shooting with real-time strategy to great effect.

Land, sea and air combat are brought over from the original, and an extra form has been added in the form of naval - which means you can take control of battleship, frigate submarine, dreadnought and naval transport units. Three online battle modes make for an element of fun not found in the first game.

Sendit.com are selling this Wii game for £17.49 - click here for more details.
