FIFA 09 £19.99

In the run up to Christmas last year, Play.com ran a "deal of the day" offer where there was one very good bargain to be had every single day of the week - and it appears as though it’s back again for 2008.

FIFA 09 is up for grabs for a top price until the end of Monday the 3rd of November, and it’s well worth picking up. Not only has it improved greatly since the last version, but it’s actually better than this year’s Pro Evolution! Shocking!

Click here to get the PlayStation 3 release, click here for the Wii version, or click here to buy the XBox 360 release - all of which are £19.99 each at Play.com.

The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess £17.99

The greatest Zelda game of all time has to be Ocarina Of Time on the Nintendo 64, but Wii title The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess runs a very close second.

Although initially designed for the GameCube (and actually released for it, and still available at stupid prices on the Internet), the graphics are excellent. Gameplay wise this will take you a fair amount of time to 100% complete, as there are lots of mini-games and quests - the fishing alone will keep you coming back for more.

Click here to buy this title for £17.99 from Empire Direct.

FIFA 09 From £17.98

For the first time in absolutely ages, FIFA has surpassed Pro Evolution - at least, that’s my opinion after playing both (albeit on the PS3, so other console versions could differ).

It’s difficult to put my finger on why it’s won this time, but FIFA 09 just "feels" more realistic than ever before. Sadly, PES 2009: Pro Evolution Soccer still has the faults of the last one, right down to the laggy online mode.

Click here to get the PlayStation 2 version for £17.98, or click here to buy the Wii release for £24.98 - both of which are supplied by Amazon. Meanwhile over at Game you can get the DS (click here) or PSP (click here) versions for £17.99 each.

Without question, the Guitar Hero series needs next to no introduction - every single title thus far has been well worth getting, and I have no doubts that the next one will be even better (as they’re going down the same road as Rock Band, with drums and singing).

Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock (with a wireless guitar) is the first to appear on the Wii, and what a debut it is. With some great tunes to rock out to, plus a great online multiplayer mode, this is top drawer entertainment.

Click here to buy the Wii version, or click here for the XBox 360 release - both of which are £49.99 each at Argos.

It’s also worth pointing out that Guitar Hero: Aerosmith (with a wireless guitar) is still £49.98 at Gamestation, although I believe the Wii version is out of stock.

MX Vs ATV: Untamed is an off-road racing game that includes a huge amont of different modes to choose from. Motocross, Opencross, Supercross, Supermoto, Endurcross, and Mini-bikes are just some of what’s on offer.

It’s quite easy to pick and play as well, which means that anyone of any age should get some amount of fun from playing. It’s just a shame that there’s no sign of any online multiplayer, but there is an offline one that at least goes some way to rectifying this oversight.

To buy the PlayStation 2 version for £10.49 from SoftUK, click here. PS3 owners can get their release for £14.89 from Sendit.com by clicking here, or Wii owners can click here to buy the game for £12.99 from Game. Finally, XBox 360 gamers can get their version for £18.99 from SoftUK by clicking right here.

Phew!

Bully: Scholarship Edition £13

Before Bully was released in this country, it had its name changed to Canis Canem Edit (presumably because Bully might seem to glorify bullying, or some such nonsense). When the updated version came out on the Wii and XBox 360, it went back to its original title.

Bully: Scholarship Edition features exclusive content not found on the original PS2 title. There are eight new missions, additional characters, four new classes (Biology, Music, Maths, and Geography), and new unlockable items and clothing - a selection of multiplayer mini-games have also been added as well.

ShopTo are selling the Wii release for £13 - for more information, click here. If you’ve not used it yet, be sure to take advantage of the ShopTo £1 voucher as it will make it even cheaper.

Console Deals

With Christmas on the horizon, it’s nice to see that there are still a few decent console deals available right now. That being said, it wouldn’t surprise me to see stocks running low nearer the big day, especially with Nintendo hardware.

Kicking it off we have the Nintendo DS Lite, which is easily the best handheld on the market today. With a great back catalogue, as well as the ability to play GBA titles, you’ll always find something suitable to play.

Click here to get the black system with a copy of Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain? and an essential kit (which contains a car power adapter, protective cases, and other useful stuff) for £99.97 from Argos. For a limited time you’ll also get a £5 gift voucher thrown in, free of charge.

The Nintendo Wii needs no real introduction, as every man and his dog either has one already or has read about it or seen it on television. It’s fair to say that this has changed gaming forever, if only because it’s got older people more involved.

A minor drawback is that there aren’t too many great titles available, but I have a felling that we’ll see some good stuff over the next couple of years.

Instore at Tesco you can get the console, with a selected game, for £179.97.

Meanwhile, at Blockbuster you can pick up the system with copies of FIFA 09 and Mario Kart Wii for £179.99.

Boogie (With Microphone) £17.99

The success of the SingStar series meant it was inevitable that at some point E.A. would try and cash in by bringing out their own version. Sadly Boogie isn’t all that good, as it feels a bit shallow and is far too easy.

Songs include tracks by such artists as Britney Spears, Pink, Black Eyed Peas, MC Hammer, and The Village People. It’s possibly worth getting this just to break out the baggy pants and bust a move to U Can’t Touch This.

Zavvi have Boogie (with a microphone) on the Wii available for £17.99 - click here for more details.

Kung Fu Panda £9.99

Kung Fu Panda is based on the film of the same name, and is aimed squarely at children. Progressing through the game unlocks more characters for you to control and use in the multiplayer modes.

As with many titles that have been released recently, this comes with a fair amount of mini-games to take part in. Even more characters can be unlocked when taking part in these as well.

Comet are selling the Wii version for £9.99 - for more information, click here. Xbox 360 owners can click here to get their version for the same price from the same retailer, whilst instore at Comet you can pick up the DS and PlayStation 3 releases for £9.99 too.

de Blob £17

In more proof that journalists are a lazy bunch of idiots who seemingly don’t know their arse from their elbow, the normally reliable CVG reported the other day that they were shocked to learn that you could get de Blob for the PC for free - even though the world and his dog know that THQ picked it up and morphed it into a Wii title.

The game lets you explore and liberate a city from an evil bunch of wrong ‘uns. Playing as de Blob, you embark on a quest to re-animate the city of Chroma and its inhabitants by splattering everything with colour - there’s a multiplayer option too, but sadly no sign of online action.

Instore at Asda you can get this Wii game for £17, until the 23rd of October.
