MX Vs ATV: Untamed gives you the option of competing on either motorbikes or monster trucks. My personal preference is the latter, as there’s nothing better than a truck on huge wheels. Except a bigger truck on bigger wheels, perhaps.
Once you’ve won all eight of the different Championship modes, take it online and beat your friends. Heck, beat your enemies while you’re at it as well.

On the market today you get get very good first person shooters (such as Bioshock), but you can also get very average ones as well. This is sadly the case with PlayStation 3 title Haze.
The team behind Timesplitters made this, so you’d expect something half-decent - what you actually get is something that looks like a bad PS2 game and plays like a car with 2 wheels (i.e. not very well).

Addictive games are all the rage (see The Club), and Sid Meier’s Civilization: Revolution is yet another one where you’ll be saying "just one more turn" like a broken record.
This latest in the legendary strategy series has been designed and built specifically for the next-generation consoles. Take one of 16 different civilizations and rule the world!

I have to recommend MotorStorm, Ratchet & Clank: Tools Of Destruction, Resistance: Fall Of Man and Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune as each are brilliant in their own way.
Sony are bloody irritating at times, such as when they decided not to include rumble feedback in the original PlayStation 3 controller. Thankfully they’ve now rectified this silly mistake.
The Sony PlayStation 3 DualShock 3 Wireless Controller is basically the same as the previous controller, but now includes pressure sensitive buttons that rumble with each action.

Personally I though that NASCAR 08 was very disappointing, so I hoped that E.A. would improve on it with NASCAR 09. Sadly, they haven’t - in fact, it’s almost as though they’ve taken the previous game and updated the roster.
One new addition is the "Chase For The NASCAR Sprint Cup" career mode, but it’s not enough to get a recommendation. Here’s hoping they get it right next year.

The first Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter was a very in-depth tactical fighting game, and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 takes this and kicks it up a notch.
In 2014 there’s a new and more imminent threat along the recently completed wall on the U.S./Mexico border. The Ghosts have only 72 hours to assess the threat and stop the rebels from reaching U.S. soil…

Is Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare one of the best games in the last couple of years? In terms of online multiplayer titles, the answer is a resounding "YES!". I doubt you’ll have as much fun shooting the crap out of people this side of a lengthy jail term.
The single player campaign is also very good, but it’s definitely the multiplayer mode that will keep you coming back for more.
To get the PlayStation 3 version click here, or for the XBox 360 release click here - both are £29.99 each at Argos. Incidentally both feature in multibuy discounts (the PS3 release in a 2 for £50 and the 360 version in a 2 for £45 offer), so if you find anything else of interest you’ll get the game for even less.

After featuring the XBox 360 version of The Bourne Conspiracy a couple of days ago, it was inevitable that the PlayStation 3 release would appear at a reduced price sooner rather than later.
As I said previously, hopes were high that this would rival the Bourne novels and films in terms of excellence - sadly it doesn’t. Although not the worst game ever made, it’s far from being a strongly recommended purchase.

One of the greatest ideas for a game in recent years has to have been Guitar Hero - OK it’s nothing like playing a real guitar, but it makes you feel like you are. Sort of.
Guitar Hero III is the latest in the series, and the very first to appear on the PlayStation 3 and Wii. With some great tunes to play along to, it may very well be the best of the bunch as well.
Amazon have the various different console versions available for good prices - click here to get the PS2 release for £29.97, or click here for the Wii version (which is £39.97). The PS3 (click here) and XBox 360 (click here) releases are slightly more expensive, coming in at £44.97 each.
