If you can remember Turok on the Nintendo 64, you probably have memories of it being quite a good cross between Jurassic Park and Call Of Duty. The newest title in the series continues this theme, but is sadly not as good as other first person shooters available on the market.
Playing as Jason Turok, your mission is to take down a war criminal - your former mentor, Roland Kane. Set on a planet inhabited by Kane and his soldiers, use your elite training to overcome not only them but the other creatures that populate the environment.

Do you care about mindless violence in video games? I didn’t think so, as it seems to be only people paranoid about everything who complain about them corrupting our minds. I for one would rather run over a prostitute in Grand Theft Auto IV than do the same thing in real life - surely that’s a good thing?
Anyway, you probably know all about this by now so there’s not much point in me trying to tell you what it’s all about. I can tell you that it’s probably the best game of the year so far though.
Click here to buy this PlayStation 3 title for £27.99 from Movietyme (this is a US release, but it will work perfectly fine on your PAL console - much the same as Haze will as well).

What with "social commentators" enjoying the abuse of gamers who happen to like violent games, perhaps Condemned 2 will make them a bit happier - the basic idea is to kill serial killers. Actually, that will probably make them angrier. Great.
This sequel to one of the debut titles on the XBox 360 is not quite as good as the original, but does have quite a good online multiplayer mode. Which is nice.
Click here to buy the PS3 version for £23.99 from Movietyme - this is a US release, but will work perfectly fine on your PAL console.
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 is the sequel to one of the best (in terms of multiplayer playability at least) games of recent times. This time it’s up to your team to stop Alvarez Cabrero from turning Las Vegas into a burning inferno.
This signals the end of Rainbow Six’s time in Vegas, but here’s hoping that they come back again some time in the not too distant future. Rainbow Six: Blackpool would be a good one.

Kids enjoy most stuff that has anything to do with Disney - at least, they should do anyway! Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World’s End isn’t a great title, but it has enough to keep them entertained.
This game lets you visit brand-new locations not seen in any of the movies (this also includes bits from the first two, you see) and has a new ending as well.
Blah DVD have the PlayStation 3 version available for £12.92 - for more information on this cheap games‘ availability click here.
The Wii release of Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World’s End is also at a great price.

If you’re sick of first person shooting game, you may want to look away now - PlayStation 3 title Haze is yet another one. In what looks a little bit like some kind of drug, your character (Shane Carpenter) runs on Nectar which gives you enchanced abilities.
Your begin your fight by heading to South America to battle a vicious rebel faction, The Promise Hand. To begin with everything looks fine, but things very quickly start to appear a little strange…
To get this game for £24.99 fom Movietyme, simply click here - I should also probably point out that this is a US release, but it will work on your PAL PS3.
The Guitar Hero series is incredibly popular, and with Rock Band on the scene there’s now some genuine competition for it to contend with. Before Guitar Hero IV next year, we are to be treated to two new band-related games.
Guitar Hero: Aerosmith (with a wireless guitar) is the first to be released - this contains some of the band’s greatest hits to play along to, as well as more tunes from others who have either toured or influenced them.

Winston Chruchill was hit by a taxi in 1931 - what do think would have happened if he’d died? Well, Turning Point: Fall Of Liberty takes a look at what might have been.
By 1951, the world has fallen to Hitler and the Third Reich. You fight as part of the resistance against the enemy, in this vastly different first person shooter.
Click here to buy this PlayStation 3 title for £24.99 from Game (the XBox 360 release of Turning Point: Fall Of Liberty is also available for a similar price).

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to stop a third-world country from gaining control of a supply of nuclear weapons. Luckily you have a partner to help, so it’s not all bad news.
In fact, you can switch between either character at any time and take advantage of each individual’s skills and weapons - each agent must work together to create the perfect team (a bit like Army Of Two actually).
Click here to buy the PlayStation 3 version, or click here to get the XBox 360 release - both of which are £14.99 each at Play.com.

Even though NBA 2K7 is a little bit out-of-date it’s still one of the best basketball games on the PS3 - which isn’t that difficult, as there’s not a lot to choose from! It’’s right up there with NBA Live 08, I’d say.
With the ability to compete with other players all over the world via the wireless network and expanded player support for up to 10 players, this is fantastic value.
SoftUK are selling this game for £9.99 - click here for more details.
