Tom Clancy’s EndWar £19.99

The great thing about video games is that they quite often put you in positions that would otherwise be terrifying in real life. Such is the case with Tom Clancy’s EndWar, which is set during the outbreak of World War 3.

Take control of the elite U.S. Joint Strike Force, European Enforcers Corps, or Russian Spetsnaz Guards Brigade, and lead your nation to victory in three separate, yet interwoven, single-player campaigns.

If you fancy this, click here to buy the DS release for £19.99 from Play.com. You can also get the PlayStation 3 (click here) and XBox 360 (click here) versions for the same price, from the same retailer.

Far Cry 2 £17.99

It’s worth noting that whilst Far Cry 2 is being marketed as a true sequel to Far Cry, very few similarities exist between the two. Completely new characters and a new setting are included, and there’s also a "more realistic" style of gameplay to be found.

The game itself is actually very good, with some nice graphics and a well-designed open-world setting in Africa. Although the storyline isn’t up to much, I’m sure you’ll find the AI quite a challenge to defeat – expect enemies to actively hunt for you if you try and hide.

Click here to get the PlayStation 3 release, or click here for the XBox 360 version – both of which are £17.99 at Play.com.

WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2009 From £17.61

Although the last game wasn’t all that great, WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2009 improves in many areas – although it’s still not as good as the classic No Mercy on the Nintendo 64!

This version includes a brand-new Inferno match (which has fire surrounding the ring), a completely revamped tag team match, and four modes to compete in (Create-A-Finisher, Road to WrestleMania, Career, and a multiplayer season). Rosters and costumes have been updated too, as have movesets.

Game are selling the PSP version for £17.61 – click here for more details. Meanwhile, over at Play.com you can get either the PlayStation 3 (click here) or XBox 360 (click here) releases for £17.99 each.

Rounding things off is the Wii version for £19.56, again at Game. Click here to buy it.

I possibly spoke a little too soon about the PlayStation 3 80GB console being the only one you could get, as it looks as though there’s a bigger 160GB model available now as well!

This is crazily big, and I can safely say that if you need any more space than this that you should get out more. That said, if you download films and the like (naughty) then you would start to fill that up quite quickly.

If you fancy a PlayStation 3 160GB Limited Edition console, with seven games, click here to buy one for £341.56. I shoud mention that four of the titles are downloads (Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, The Last Guy, Ratchet & Clank: Quest For Bootie, and Super Stardust HD), whilst the remaining three are FIFA 09, Little Big Planet, and WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2009.

I’m seriously surprised at the quality of console bundles we’ve been getting in the run up to Christmas. Yes, the country is in recession and people are losing their jobs, but it’s still shocking to be able to get a PS3 with multiple games for about the cost of the system itself a couple of months ago.

Sony’s newest baby originally came with a 40GB or 60GB hard drive, which confused the heck out of folk for a while. Thankfully they seem to have settled on 80GB, although it’s obvious that there will be bigger sizes much further down the line.

Click here to get a PlayStation 3 80GB console, with three games, for £287.34 from Argos. The included titles are Little Big Planet, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, and Resistance 2 (click on the "Special offers" tab and then on "Offer 3").

Brothers In Arms: Double Time is actually a compilation of the two previous games in the series, Brothers In Arms: Road To Hill 30 and Brothers In Arms: Earned In Blood.

As it’s a Wii game, the motion sensing abilities in the Wii Remote are used and the Nunchuk attachment serves as a tool for issuing battle gestures and squad commands during gameplay.

Gamestation are selling this for £19.57 – click here for more details on this cheap games‘ availability.

Released at roughly the same time as Brothers In Arms: Double Time, Brothers In Arms: Hell’s Highway is the first in the series to appear on both the PlayStation 3 and XBox 360.

It once again puts you in the role of Staff Sergeant Matt Baker during Operation Market Garden in the later stages of the Second World War. Loads of improvements have been made during the transition, making this easily the best entry in the series thus far.

Click here to buy the PS3 version, or click here for the XBox 360 release – which are both also £19.57 each at Gamestation.

Hardcore Batman fans may take some objection to Lego Batman: The Video Game turning sinister villains into bumbling idiots, but for everyone else this game is a riot from start to finish – if you’ve played any of the other titles in the Lego series, you’ll know exactly what I mean.

You take control of Batman and Robin to fight some of Gotham City’s most notorious criminals, including The Joker, The Penguin, Catwoman, Scarecrow, and many more. An interesting thing to note is that the soundtrack to the game is the same one used in Tim Burton’s first Batman movie, which adds quite a bit to the experience.

The Choices UK games clearance has been on for a couple of weeks now, but there wasn’t really anything worth mentioning in it – a few crappy PC titles and some cheapo PS2 games basically.

However, they’ve added some very decent titles to it today across all platforms. Be quick though, as stock is low and running out faster than a very fast thing.

It’s worth pointing out at this point that Legendary isn’t very good. Anyone who’s a big first-person shooter fan may get something out of it, but I doubt anyone else will.

Unskippabale cutscenes and pathetic action scenes are bad enough, but long loading times and a general feeling that the game isn’t complete are unacceptable.

If you fancy this XBox 360 game, click here to buy it for £19.57 from Gamestation. PlayStation 3 owners can click here to get their version for the same price, from the same retailer.

This price is valid until 1pm on Saturday the 6th of December, if you care (which I don’t).
