PlayStation 3 (With Game) From £265

The PlayStation 3 had a bit of a tough time when it first came out – just recently it was revealed that it’s now the best selling console in the country!

There’s a couple of decent bundles available from Bargain Crazy at the moment, that I thought would be worth mentioning.

To get the system plus a copy of Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World’s End for £265, simply click here.

If that doesn’t float your boat you could always buy it with PES 2008 (Pro Evolution Soccer to the rest of us) for £279 by clicking here.

Tony Hawk’s Project 8 £17.99

Tony Hawk’s Project 8 has been completely re-designed for it’s PlayStation 3 release.

With some great graphics, enhanced physics and extremely responsive controls, it’s certainly one of the best of the series.

The battle for the city is won in the canyon as Need For Speed: Carbon immerses you in the world’s most dangerous and adrenaline-filled form of street racing.

For the first time in a Need For Speed game, build a crew and race in an all-out war for your city against rival crews and opposing car classes. You’ll risk everything to take over rival neighborhoods one street at a time.

Each crew member has unique skills that you trigger during races to give you the winning edge over opponents. Call on a Blocker to create a distraction and slow down other racers or a Scout to lead you to shortcuts on the track.

As the police turn up the heat and force the races to the outskirts of the city, the battle ultimately shifts to Carbon Canyon, where territories and reputations can be lost on every perilous curve.

Use your creativity to design your crew’s cars with the revolutionary new Autosculpt car customization tool that gives you the power to turn every vehicle into the car you’ve always wanted.

Represent your car class, your crew, and your streets in Need For Speed: Carbon, the next revolution in racing games.

Viking: Battle For Asgard £30.95

The goddess Hel – daughter of Loki, Norse God of mischief – has been banished from the heavenly kingdom of Asgard for defying Odin’s rule. Angry at her fate, she seeks to release the ancient wolf-god Fenrir which legend tells will bring about Ragnarok – the apocalyptic battle that will destroy Asgard and the Gods. With her army of resurrected Viking warriors, Hel marches on the unsuspecting mortal realm of Midgard.

Odin’s daughter Freya, goddess of love and wisdom, is appointed the task of stopping Hel and defending the future of mankind. For her champion she chooses Skarin, a great but troubled young warrior, ignorant of the true reason for his favour with the Gods and thrust into the midst of their bitter war.

As Skarin, players will experience unparalleled battle scenes, leading the charge in a titanic clash between powerful gods and mere men. War on an unprecedented scale will rage across a beautifully realised Viking landscape. Vast, living islands, free form worlds filled with discovery, stealth, brutal combat and culminating in epic battles the like of which have never been seen on console before.

If you’re still trying to banish the memory of Simpsons Wrestling from your mind, then The Simpsons Game should do the trick.

It’s still not the perfect Simpsons title, but it’s easily the best one for quite some time.

This PlayStation 3 game is £9.99 instore at Comet.

Lair £9.99

Riding a dragon sounds like it might be a bit of a laugh, but some reviewers obviously don’t agree.

Lair has been panned almost universally in every single review I’ve seen – can’t be that made surely!

Click here to get this PlayStation 3 title for only £9.99 from Comet, and see if they’re right (use the "Collect from store" option to save on postage).

If you have a look around this site, you’ll get a feeling for how much I dislike The Golden Compass.

The book is good enough, the film is OK, but the game is absolutely awful – kids will enjoy it though (fools that they are).

To get the PlayStation 3 release of this game for £9.99 from HMV, simply click here.

Ever wanted to fight the Englih or French, but didn’t want to risk ending up in jail?

If you have, Bladestorm: The Hundred Years War could be the game for you – battle as either country in this fairly big strategy title (which features elephants; don’t ask).

HMV have both the PlayStation 3 (click here) and XBox 360 (click here) versions available for £17.99 each.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 From £29

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 is allegedly the last time we’ll be heading to Vegas with the Rainbow Six squad – shame, as the two games have been pretty darn good.

The online multiplayer mode is simply fantastic in this as well and is right up there with Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in the fun stakes.

Simply Games have the PS3 version priced at £29 (click here), whereas Game have the XBox 360 version for £29.99 (click here).
