Comet Bargains

Here’s a bit of a shocker – some Comet bargains. Usually they’re one of the more expensive places to get games, but there’s actually some decent deals to be had at the moment.

There’s only a couple of games on offer, but the XBox 360 accessories look great value as well.

The Bourne Conspiracy £19.95

The Bourne novels and films have both been excellent, so expectations were high for the video game. Sadly, it’s nowhere near as good as them – shame, as all the signs were positive before release.

Although by no means the worst title to ever grace the XBox 360, the fighting system is not as good as you would like, the linear gameplay is disappointing and it’s too bleeding short!

The consolation to all this is that you can get it for the reasonable price of £19.95 from The Game Collection – for more information, click here.

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga £19.99

After an extended break (bit longer than I planned, if I’m being honest – apologies for that!), we’re back. As you can imagine, there’s a fair amount of bargains to get through so let’s get going…

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga is the very first game that lets you play through all six episodes of the space saga. Combining this with the tongue-in-cheek humour associated with the Lego video games makes for a great gaming experience.

Today there’s going to be a range of Gamestation 24 hour deals.

The way this works is that every hour a new offer appears and runs until stock disappears – there’s no guarantee of any real bargains, but there’s usually at least one or two when they do these things.

If you fancy checking it out, click here to do so – and remember, check back every hour to see what the new deal is.

King Of Clubs £17.99

One of the highlights of Wii Sports is the golf bit, which helps show off some of the Wii’s abilities. If you’re looking for something similar, but slightly different, than King Of Clubs could be the game for you.

Instead of being your normal golf game with 18 rounds at various courses, this is a crazy golf title with 10 different courses to play on. There’s sadly no online multiplayer, although there is an offline one (i.e. in your living room, etc).

MotorStorm £8.99

If you’re a PS3 owner in the market for a decent racing game, look no further than MotorStorm. Put simply, it’s one of the best racers available for the console – and to think it was a launch title!

The graphics look absolutely fantastic and the online multiplayer mode is an excellent addition as well. The handling of the vehicles might take a little getting used to, but you’ll soon get the hang of it.

Many of the PS3 launch titles are actually still very playable, even now. Resistance: Fall Of Man was definitely a highlight and now that the sequel is on the horizon, it’s well worth taking a look at.

After you’ve completed the epic single player storyline which sees Britain and America join up to fight a horrific species of unknown origin, take it online and battle your friends (or enemies!) in the multiplayer arenas.

Just for a change, there’s been some more HMV reductions – funny that sales never really end, even when we’re told they’re either over or nearly over. Odd.

Anyway, on with le bargains.

DS

Draglade £14.99

PS2

Burnout: Dominator £7.99

Wii

Geometry Wars: Galaxies £10.99
Monster Jam £14.99
Rapala: Tournament Fishing £15.99

XBox 360

Monster Jam £14.99

Doodle Hex £17.99

The DS is a great little console and is very unique to boot – which means it’s one of the only systems where games are tailor made for it. You have your Brain Training, Hotel Dusk and Elite Beat Agents titles that might not work as well elsewhere.

Doodle Hex is the newest unique game to appear. In it you must draw magical runes in order to win a mystical prize. It sounds very easy, but is in fact incredibly addictive. Over 250 challenges totalling well over 100 hours of gameplay mean you shouldn’t get bored soon either!
