Since Woolworths fell into administration, many stores have felt a knock-on effect – this is down to Woolies Entertainment UK distribution company also being handed over to administrators.
The reason I’m mentioning this is that Devil May Cry 4 is available for £11.99, but you won’t be able to order it online. Instead, I’m afraid to say you’ll have to brave our wonderful weather and venture outside (terrifying, I know).
Instore at Zavvi you can get either the PlayStation 3 or XBox 360 releases for this price, where you can find stock.
There’s a Blockbuster Christmas clearance on at the moment, both online and off.
Chances are that if something’s out of stock on their site, then you’ll more than likely be able to get it instore.

It’s fair to say that the Final Fantasy series has been lagging for some time now, so the appearance of Lost Odyssey on the XBox 360 is a welcome one. I say that because it’s made by the original creator of Final Fantasy, and hankers back to what originally made it great.
Playing as a one thousand year old bloke who’s lost his memory might seem a bit strange, but the gripping storyline and exciting battles make for one of the most underrated games on the console.
Pop in to Gamestation and pick this up for £9.99.
Is Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare one of the best games in the last couple of years? In terms of online multiplayer titles, the answer is a resounding "YES!". I doubt you’ll have as much fun shooting the crap out of people this side of a lengthy jail term.
The single player campaign is also very good, but it’s definitely the multiplayer mode that will keep you coming back for more.
To get the PlayStation 3 version click here, or for the XBox 360 release click here – both are £29.99 each at Argos. Incidentally both feature in multibuy discounts (the PS3 release in a 2 for £50 and the 360 version in a 2 for £45 offer), so if you find anything else of interest you’ll get the game for even less.
UPDATE: I’m bumpin this up a bit, as it’s still the same price – and is oddly still the cheapest, even though the game has been out for over a year!

The deals are coming thick and fast now, with just a couple of weeks of Christmas shopping left. I think this year I’ve done nearly all of mine online as you really can’t beat some of the deals we’ve been getting recently.
Anyway, I digress – Fallout 3 has appeared in Gamestation’s "deal of the day" offer. There are conflicting reports that this price will actually last longer than 24 hours, but I’ve been unable to confirm this (order it now to be on the safe side!).
Click here to buy the standard PlayStation 3 version, or click here for the standard XBox 360 release – both of which are currently £19.56 each.
Instore you can also get the respective console Collector’s Edition releases for £24.46 each. These contain a copy of the game, an artbook, a "making of" DVD, and a Vault-Boy Bobble-Head figurine, all of which are stored in a metal lunchbox.

It looks as though there’s something of a Game Christmas sale on at the moment, as there are some very reasonably priced items across a few platforms.
No idea how long these will last, but I always recommend snapping up cheap games the second you see ‘em anyway!

It’s a daily event now, trying to keep up with the amount of reasonable console bundles that are appearing. With the price of the XBox 360 Arcade now being low by itself, it’s nice to see retailers including extra games with it as well.
The system itself comes with a wireless controller, five titles from the XBox Live Marketplace (Boom Boom Rocket, Feeding Frenzy, Luxor 2, Pac-Man and Uno), and a 256MB memory unit. If you want to upgrade at any time, Microsoft will sell you an XBox 360 20GB hard drive for just £12.99 or you can get an XBox 360 60GB Live starter kit for £48.93 from Gameplay.
Game have an XBox 360 Arcade, with Mirror’s Edge, available for £127.22 – for more information, click here.
The latest online retailer to hop on to the "deal of the day" bandwagon is Gamestation. Every day in the run up to Christmas, a new offer will appear – Monday and Tuesday’s weren’t particularly good, but today’s is.
Battlefield: Bad Company sees you thrust into the middle of a fictional war between the United States and the Russian Federation, where you’ll lead a squad of AWOL soldiers into battle against Russians, Middle East Coalition troops, and Legionnaire mercenaries.
Click here to get the PlayStation 3 version, or click here for the XBox 360 release – both of which are £19.99 each (until noon on Thursday the 4th of December, I believe).

From Hironobu Sakaguchi, creator of the Final Fantasy series, comes role-playing game Lost Odyssey. This XBox 360 exclusive sees you take on the role of Kaim, a man who has lived for a thousand years and who has no memory of his past – once his memories do start to return, he struggles to deal with the pain that they bring.
Beautiful graphics and strong production values help this a great deal, although there are a few framerate issues. The old-school gameplay mechanics could also be considered dull by some, but I actually found the combat system quite good (you may disagree though).
