There’s a few animal games available for the DS, but none have quite hit the heights of popularity that the Nintendogs series has. Probably something to do with Nintendo making this one themselves, instead of farming it out to a dodgy developer.

Nintendogs: Dachshund & Friends lets you train up and look after a Dachshund or six other types of dog. Play games with it and enter competitions in order to win money – this can then be used to buy supplies and even more dogs to keep yours company.

CD-WOW are selling this title for £16.99 – for more information, click here.

Burnout: Paradise £19.98

Burnout: Paradise is one of the best racing games available on either the PlayStation 3 or XBox 360. I think that the ability to absolutely destroy your own car and others around you is one of the things that make it so good.

Even with the appearance of Race Driver: Grid (which is still priced at £29.99, by the way), the online mode alone is worth buying this for. The chance to smash up your friends around the world is something I myself cherish dearly. I am a bit weird though.

To get the PS3 version click here, or for the XBox 360 release click here – both of which are £19.98 delivered each from DVD.co.uk.

Lost Odyssey £14.99

If you fancy an epic journey, but either don’t have the funds or are otherwise unable to do so then you could always try Lost Odyssey. Even though it’s a game, the journey is still the same. Or something.

Knicking bits from titles such as World Of Warcraft and blending them into the traditional role-playing system, you can make strategic decisions which give a more immersive and deep gameplay experience.

Click here to get this great XBox 360 game for £14.99 from Powerplay Direct.

UPDATE: You can in fact get Lost Odyssey for £12.50, as DVD.co.uk are running a "buy 2 XBox 360 games for £25" offer and it’s in it. Other titles include Bioshock and Timeshift. Click here for the full list.

This game is so incredibly cheap that it’s almost like they’re giving it away. There’s nothing wrong with Telly Addicts either, except for the sinister presence of a virtual Noel Edmonds – more terrifying than the real thing!

This is based on the old BBC show of the same name, and is quite simple. All that you do is answer questions about TV programmes and win money. Of course, the money isn’t real – it’s the taking part that makes it fun. Possibly.

Click here to get this PS2 game for the frankly crackers price of only £1.99 from The Game Collection.

Boom Blox £24.98

You can tell that video games are now becoming more accepted by the "mainstream" by the fact that Steven Spielberg is now helping make them. His first effort is Wii puzzle title Boom Blox.

On the surface this resembles such games as Jenga, but once you delve beneath you find a game that’s actually quite challenging. With over 300 levels and a decent multiplayer mode, this is well worth getting.

If you fancy this, click here to buy it for £24.98 from Amazon.

Mario games are usually excellent, and Super Paper Mario is no exception. Even though it’s quite different from most other Mario titles, it hankers back to the original Super Mario Brothers game somewhat.

The Wii Remote is used like a NES controller, whilst pushing A flips the perspective from 2D to 3D – giving seemingly flat worlds hidden depth, with plenty of secrets to discover.

Comet are selling this Wii game for £14.99 – for more information, click here (additionally, select the "Collect from store" option to save on postage).

I was under the illusion that Nitro Bike was designed by the same people behind Excite Truck (which is one of the best games available on the Wii, by the way) – how wrong I was. It tries very hard to be similar, but fails on almost every level.

The graphics look like something a child has created, the gameplay is almost nonexistent, and the online mode is so empty that you’d be mistaken for thinking you’d stumbled across a barren landscape untouched by human hands. Truly awful.

Lost: The Video Game £9.99

Wellity, wellity, wellity – here’s me complaining that developers do shoddy work on film tie-ins, when in reality they also do the same for games based on TV shows!

On paper, Lost: The Video Game should be excellent – in reality, it’s incredibly average. Fans will get the most enjoyment from the experience, but I have a feeling that everyone else will just feel a bit disappointed.
