UPDATE: On Saturday the 6th of September there were some more titles added. Wall-E has been reduced across all formats, and No More Heroes and MX Vs ATV: Untamed look great value.

The very first Guitar Hero is very, very difficult to get for a decent price so I would strongly urge you to consider getting it while it’s available for under £15. For a title that’s been out for a couple of years, it’s surprising how few retailers have ever decided to reduce it.

This features 30 popular rock songs spanning five decades, from the 1960s up to 2005, in addition to bonus tracks from independent artists. You don’t necessarily need the guitar to play it, but it does add a whole new dimension to the experience if you do.

Amazon have this PlayStation 2 game (which sadly doesn’t come with the guitar) available for £14.98 – for more information, click here.

Whilst the PlayStation 3 has Beijing 2008, the PSP only has International Athletics on offer in terms of Olympic action – and it’s average at best. I won’t suggest it was rushed out in time for the big event, but others might…

The graphics are pretty poor, there’s no career mode, and pushing the buttons too hard could break your console. At least there’s the multiplayer mode available to beat your friends in!

Click here to buy this game for £12.99 from Powerplay Direct.

Resident Evil 4 is probably one of the best games ever made – seriously, if I was to list all the good points about it, I’d be here all day. This sixth entry in the Resident Evil series has also won a whole host of awards.

The Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition features brand new controls that bring you closer to the action than ever before. The Wii Remote allows you to aim and shoot anywhere on the screen and can also be flicked in order to instantly target an enemy with a knife.

Argos have reduced the price of this to £14.99 – click here for more details.

John Woo Presents: Stranglehold is a third-person shooter that serves as the sequel to 1992 action film Hard Boiled, and stars Chow Yun-Fat reprising his role as cop Inspector "Tequila" Yuen. His loyalties are pushed to the limit when his ex-wife is kidnapped by the Russian mob in Chicago and as he struggles balance his duty to uphold the law with doing what it takes to save his family.

The John Woo Presents: Stranglehold – Collector’s Edition PlayStation 3 release is different from the XBox 360 version in that it comes complete with a high definition copy of Hard Boiled. What a very nice bonus to get!

Click here to get this title for about £13.28 delivered from Axel Music.

Getting a console is all well and good, but it’s nice when you get a game or two thrown in when you buy it. I suppose that’s where Nintendo got the Wii right, bundling it with a copy of Wii Sports.

Anyway, the XBox 360 Elite is the 360 with the biggest hard drive available (120GB) and comes completely in black. As do the controller and headset, so you have a totally matching set to play all your cheap games on.

Gamestation have improved an already very good offer by letting you get an extra game – now you get the system with a copy of Ninja Gaiden II and three from Dead Or Alive 4, Forza Motorsport 2, Gears Of War, Lost Odyssey, or Project Gotham Racing 4. If this deal sounds good to you, click here to buy it for £259.99.

The DS release of Wall-E is slightly different from the other console versions available, in that there are a total of 14 worlds to explore and clips from the film that can be unlocked as you advance.

It’s by no means the best game ever made, but kids will definitely enjoy it as they get to see stuff that wasn’t included in the movie.

Click here to buy this game for £12.93 from Asda, but be quick as the price is only valid on Thursday the 4th of September! Wii owners can get their version for the slightly higher price of £14.93 as part of the Asda September sale.

Normally with expansion packs you need to own the original, but thankfully with Command & Conquer 3: Kane’s Wrath you don’t need to have a copy of Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars – phew!

This real-time strategy game returns to the Tiberium Universe with Kane at the centre of an epic new single-player campaign spanning 20 years, from the rebirth of the Brotherhood of Nod after the Second Tiberium War through to the dramatic events of the Third Tiberium War and beyond.

Game have this XBox 360 title available for £19.99 – for more information, click here.

Alone In The Dark From £17.99

Alone In The Dark was originally called Alone In The Dark: Near Death Investigation, but the makers instead opted to go for the same name as the very first in the series – how ruddy bloody confusing!

DVD-style episodes allow you to choose to start the game from the beginning, or simply skip to a different section if you get stuck. The interchangeable first and third person camera helps make solving the puzzles a little easier, and the environment plays a big part as anything can be picked up and used as a weapon.

Click here to get the PlayStation 2 version for £17.99, or click here to buy the Wii release for £19.99 – both of which are provided by the lovely folks at Game.

The Olympics have been over for a couple of weeks, but you can try and recreate any of your favourite events in the Beijing 2008 video game. Heck, why not try and equal Michael Phelps’ record? For good measure, do it with a British swimmer!

For the very first time in an Olympic game you can take on other players around the world via the online multiplayer mode. This is something that has been anticipated for many years, so it’s great we finally get the option.

Click here to buy the PlayStation 3 release, or click here to get the XBox 360 version – both are £23.99 each at ShopTo.
