FIFA 11 £29.85

FIFA 11 is the 19th entry in the long-running football series, and adds a whole host of new features to what was already the best game of its type out there – though the new Pro Evolution Soccer title might have something to say about that later this year.

Goalkeepers now have more urgency and better perception of where to intercept loose balls, plus more agility makes them able to perform better saves. Also worth mentioning is the Career Mode which merges "Be A Pro" and "Manager Mode" from FIFA 10 into one fantastic option.

Split Second: Velocity £14.99

Split Second: Velocity is an arcade racing game which sees you take part in a fictional reality TV show consisting of a variety of events, which each focus on destructible environments triggered remotely by driver actions known as "powerplays".

Though this has been very well received by reviewers and gamers alike, it's unfortunate that it's another one of those games which has been released at the same time as another high-profile title in the genre – Blur is quite similar, and has also strangely been reduced in price recently.

Mario Power Tennis (New Play Control!) £7.97

Mario Power Tennis (New Play Control!) is, in a nutshell, an updated version of the excellent GameCube title – except that this time you control the action by making use of the Wii's innovative control scheme, through both the Wii Remote and Wii Nunchuck.

Though some have been critical of the way the motion controls have been implemented, at its core this is still one of the best looking and most playable versions of Mario Tennis on any console ever – impressive when you consider the quality of previous outings.

Amazon have this available for £7.97 – for more information, click here.

Battlefield: Bad Company £8.99

It's interesting that in many war games, you can't actually destroy everything around you – however, in Battlefield: Bad Company you can do just that. Not a big selling point, I know, but something that was very welcome when it first came out.

Other titles, such as Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, may have had more fanfare and acclaim, but this should certainly not be missed. Large maps, a decent single-player campaign, and a wide array of vehicles, make it one of the most underrated games on the next-generation platforms.

Ninja Gaiden II £7.99

Ninja Gaiden II is the sequel to the decent original XBox title Ninja Gaiden, and shares the same name as an old NES game – although this has absolutely nothing to do with that particular release.

Ryu Hayabusa is on a mission to avenge his clan and prevent the destruction of the human race, by using an assortment of ninja weaponry to maneuver through a world fraught with peril and danger.

Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City £17.99

Containing both The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony on one standalone disc, Grand Theft Auto IV: Episodes from Liberty City comes in quite handy if you don't have Grand Theft Auto IV (on which they originally appeared as downloadable content).

Like I said, this doesn't need a copy of Grand Theft Auto IV to enable play so you can dive straight into two brand new stories from the city where crime never sleeps and cars are easy as cake to steal at a moment's notice.

Gameplay are selling this PlayStation 3 title for £17.99 – click here for more details. Definitely one of those cheap games to pick up if you're a fan of the long-running series.

Borderlands is a science fiction first-person shooter with role-playing game elements which completely deserves the title "Game of the Year", more than others do – hence the reason that a Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition is being released.

Inside this bundle you'll not only find the brilliant game, but also all four add-ons that have been made available to download. "The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned", "Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot", "The Secret Armory of General Knoxx" and "Claptrap's New Robot Revolution" will extend the lifespan of this even further.

Click here to buy the PlayStation 3 version, or click here to buy the XBox 360 release – both of which are £22.99 at Gamestation.

Though there seems to be a new model every few months, the differences between the new XBox 360 250GB console and any other previous systems are quite large – with one of the main ones being the inclusion of built-in wi-fi (at long last!).

Other new additions such as a hard drive which is over double the size of the one found in the Elite and a sleeker and quieter build are great news too, with Kinect compatibility out-of-the-box being yet another nice bonus.

When the PlayStation 3 was originally released, the only controller you could get was the SIXAXIS wireless one. It contains a battery which lasts for 30 hours before needing recharged, limited motion-sensor capabilities, and finer analog sensitivity. Sadly the rumble feedback was removed.

However, since then the Sony PlayStation 3 Dualshock 3 wireless controller has been unveiled – which is exactly the same as the SIXAXIS, but with the rumble feedback put back in. Madness!

Rock Band: The Beatles (with two Microphones) £17.99

Rock Band: The Beatles is without doubt the best Beatles video game ever made – simply because it's the only one! Joking aside, it's an excellent addition to the band experience series (right up there with any of the others, if you ask me).

This Rock Band: The Beatles (with two Microphones) bundle is exclusive to the PlayStation 3 and comes with two SingStar mikes. These enable you to take part in the singing bits – though you're braver than me if you enjoy it!
