Sega Superstars Tennis

Nintendo had their own tennis game with Mario Tennis (which will probably appear again on the Wii at some point), but Sega have never bothered - until now. Sega Superstars Tennis has all your favourite Sega characters. And AiAi from Super Monkey Ball.

The great touch is having the courts on some iconic levels, such as the Green Hill Zone from Sonic The Hedgehog, and including some music that may sound familiar to you.

DVD.co.uk are selling this Wii title for the reduced price of £16.99 - for more information, click here (this and other cheap games like Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 are part of a 2 for £30 offer there as well).

PES 2008 (Pro Evolution Soccer)

When PES 2008 (Pro Evolution Soccer to everyone else) was announced for the Wii, I think most people were expecting some sort of ridiculous control system. Instead you get one that’s difficult to master, but addictive to learn.

Off-the-ball runs are even easier with this version of the game thanks to this control scheme and, as it’s on the Wii, you can also add your Mii’s to your team as well (why you’d want to do this, I have no idea). With FIFA 08 snapping at its heels, Pro Evolution is still the best footy game around…for now!

The Simpsons Game

Everybody loves The Simpsons - well they used to anyway, until the writers got incredibly lazy and started putting out rubbish! However, the video games based on the show have been quite awful. Be happy then that The Simpsons Game is at least half decent.

It’s essentially spoofing other famous and popular games like Call Of Duty and Grand Theft Auto, but done in the unique Simpsons fashion. Controlling each member of the family, you must work your way through the impressive-looking levels.

Instore at Comet you can pick up the PlayStation 3 version for just £4.50 - which is very, very cheap!

Mass Effect

Mass Effect is an XBox 360 exclusive title which is rare, in that it actually has a compelling story to tell. Quite often you’ll find that games just have a thin plot to hold the whole thing together, but this makes sense - in fact, along with Bioshock, it’s one of the only games that does!

The game tells the age-old tale of a bloke finding out the world is in danger and nobody believing him (surprise, surprise). It’s your job to travel the universe, battling baddies as you go, and let everyone know of the imminent threat.

MotorStorm

MotorStorm was a launch title for the PlayStation 3, but still holds up as one of the best racers on the console. That’s quite a feat, when you consider the competition it’s up against.

With vehicles and environments that are fully destructible, as well as stunning scenery and real-time track deformation, you get a lot of bang for your buck. An excellent online multiplayer mode also adds an extra element of quality.

Bioshock

I’ve said many times before on this site that Bioshock is one of the better games available for the XBox 360, and it’s still the case now - although there’s many decent first-person shooter titles on the console.

This one is slightly different in that it’s a living, unique and unpredictable gaming experience unlike any other. Being set in an underwater city is a bit odd as well.

Pink Nintendo DS Lite

The DS is probably the best handheld console currently on the market. With a great selection of games to choose from, as well as the ability to play GameBoy Advance titles, you really can’t do better.

Originally the DS was quite chunky, but since then the DS Lite has been released - it’s much slimmer, and also has an easier button configuration.

Play.com have the Pink Nintendo DS Lite available for £89.99 - click here for more details.

If the colour puts you off, you can pay a little bit more and get one as part of the ShopTo reductions if you feel like it.

Lost Odyssey

There’s many decent games available for the XBox 360, but none are as epic as Lost Odyssey. Playing as an immortal, you work together with a group of misfits to discover your past and fulfil your destiny.

Elements from titles like World Of Warcraft are blended into the traditional role-playing system, enabling you to make strategic decisions for a more immersive and deep gameplay experience.

Tamagotchi Connexion Corner Shop

Fancy setting up your own shop, but don’t want to lose the shirt off your back? Well, DS title Tamagotchi Connexion Corner Shop lets you do just that - choose from a dentist’s office, beauty salon, bakery, or many other different retail ideas.

You won’t be surprised to hear that there’s a ton of mini-games (it is Nintendo remember) that you have to complete in order to help customers and make some money. If only real life was that easy!

In order to get this game, all you have to do is click right here.

You can still get Tamagotchi Connexion Corner Shop 2 for £9.99, by the way.

Need For Speed: Prostreet

The Need For Speed series has been incredibly up and down over the years - it started off well, seemed to be stuck in limbo for a time, and has just recently appeared to be on its way back up again. Very odd.

Need For Speed: Prostreet is the latest title, and is very probably the best in quite some time. Although still far from being as good as other racers available, it’s still good to burn rubber all around the world - although there’s no online multiplayer mode, which is a shame.
