I love movie tie-in games, as they are so brilliantly made. Of course, I’m lying - generally they’re shit. I rarely use strong-ish language on this site, but it really annoys me that developers can’t make a good title out of a film.
Balls Of Fury is a ping-pong game, based on the film about ping-pong. The Wii controls at least make this somewhat interesting, even if it is incredibly average.

This is most definitely one of those cheap games that you’d only want to get to either boost your collection, or as something to tide you over.
One of the best driving games this year has undoubtedly been Race Driver: Grid. With some of the best graphics seen yet, as well as a great racing experience, this comes very highly recommended.
Play.com have their own Race Driver: Grid - Special Edition which contains a copy of the game, a "making of" DVD, and a hardback artbook. Oh yes, and an exclusively unlockable car as well - the Aston Martin DBR9 (get it by entering the code P47203845).

You might think that by criticising such movie tie-in games as Iron Man and Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer, I automatically dismiss all of them as being rubbish - not true, as the Godfather and Scarface titles are pretty good.
However, Ratatouille is another very average entry in the history of the genre. The one thing it does have going for it though is that kids will love it. Hooray!
SoftUK are selling this PS2 title for £7.49 - for more information, click here.

You can get some crazy games for the DS, but none match the weirdness of Elite Beat Agents. You play the part of an elite group of agents who solve problems by singing and dancing. Yes, this is truly bizarre.
As the music plays, tap the screen and trace rhythm patterns to keep the beat - whilst you do this, the story plays out on the top screen. Great, addictive fun it is as well.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers Of Darkness is an epic adventure, played out as though you yourself were a Pokemon. That’s one dream ticked off the checklist then…
There’s a new Friend Rescue option in this, so if you faint you can send an SOS message via the wireless network to someone else who has a copy of the game. How useful.
If you fancy this DS title, click here to buy it for £19 from Simply Games.
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers Of Time is basically the same as Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers Of Darkness, except that there’s different Pokemon to catch.
Damn those blokes at Nintendo - we have to buy all versions of every Pokemon game to be able to catch them all. I can’t take it any more!

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2 is the sequel to the best-selling Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes. In it, you select from over 20 characters from the popular Naruto TV series and create teams of ninjas.
Once you’ve assembled your team explore the Phantom Fortress and Phantom Castle to take part in full-blown battles, exciting quizzes and taxing mini-games.

Cars: Mater-National is a spin-off game from the Disney Pixar film Cars. It’s basically a racing game, but with characters from the movie - kids will love it, I’m sure.
As this is aimed at the younger gamer, expect a whole ton of mini-games thrown in as well. All in all it’s a great bit of enjoyment that everyone can take part in.
Asda have reduced the price of this PS3 game to £12.93 - click here for more details.

After the success of the Brain Training titles, there’s been a continuous supply of other games designed to keep your brain in tip-top condition. Whether they actually make any difference or not is up for debate (I’d say they do help somewhat).
Brain Challenge is a collection of 43 different games which have each been designed to specifically help improve your brain. 3 levels of difficulty and a multiplayer mode add to the longevity.

Aliens have invaded a small town in America, and it’s your job to make sure that nasty buggers clear off and don’t come back. Surely a nice chat over a cup of tea would be better?
Alas, Aeran Pierce is the only one who can help the Government contain secrets so terrible that I shall not even mention what they are. This is because I don’t know what they are.

With the release of the Wii, us gamers are becoming more used to "wacky" games than ever before. It’s not even always the games themselves that are mental, just the controls - case in point, Donkey Kong: Jet Race. You need to use the Wii Remote and Wii Nunchuk almost like drumsticks!
It’s basically a racing title where you compete against other characters from the Donkey Kong universe in order to race to victory. You can also compete against three friends in the comfort of your own home (sadly there’s no online multiplayer).
