XBox 360 Wireless Network Adapter £42.98

There are some cheaper ways to connect to XBox Live than using the XBox 360 Wireless Network Adapter, but these are much more difficult to set up – this just plugs into the back of your console, and then you’re pretty much ready to go.

Why Microsoft couldn’t have included it inside the system to begin with, I’ll never know. You’d think that at least the Elite might have one, but sadly this isn’t the case.

Click here to buy this for £59.99 from Game – but wait, as we can get it much lower than this.

They’re currently running an offer where you get the dongle for £44.99 when bought with anything else, so just add this wrapping to satisfy the requirement. Further more, use this Game £3 off a £30 spend voucher to take the price down to a very reasonable £42.98.

After the massive success of Gears Of War, a sequel was inevitable – and Gears Of War 2 has finally arrived. Expect more of the top-notch third-person action that the first one provided, just with a fresh new look and a huge amount of nasty bastards to blow to pieces.

The Locust have found a way to make giant emergence holes capable of sinking entire cities at once, so Marcus Fenix and the rest of the COG Delta Squad are now drilling underground to "take the fight to the Locust".

Instore at both Morrisons and Sainsburys you can get this XBox 360 game for £29.99.

Samba De Amigo £17.99

Samba De Amigo is a rhythm game that first appeared on the Sega Dreamcast, but has recently been updated for the Wii generation. The Wii Remote and Wii Nunchuk are used to simulate the maraca-shaking from the original, or you can just use two Wii Remotes for completely wireless play – maraca-shaped attachments are also available to provide a full experience.

Characters and stages are the same as the original, although they have much better graphics than before. A "Career" mode is also exclusive to the Wii version, and there are some 23 new songs to master (with more to buy as downloadbale content).

Game have this title available for £17.99 – click here for more details.

Owners of either an XBox 360 Arcade or XBox 360 Core console will be very interested in the forthcoming release of an XBox 360 60GB Live Starter Kit.

In it you’ll find a 60GB hard drive, wireless headset, network cable, and a three month subscription to XBox Live. I believe that Microsoft are trying to get as many people as possible to upgrade to a hard drive, as a future update is going to take up a lot of space (much more than the 256MB memory card anyway).

Click here to preorder this set for £49.97 from Amazon.

It was on the cards since last year, but FIFA has finally surpassed Pro Evolution Soccer in the fight for top football game. FIFA 09 is great fun in either single player or with a friend, and runs much faster than I remembered it did previously.

Goalkeepers have improved tremendously, and actually appear to want to save the ball – which has always been something of a problem in the past! The online mode is as good as ever, and "Be A Pro" has been extended to run for a total of four seasons.

If you fancy the PlayStation 2 version, click here to get it for £14.97 from Amazon – click here to get the PSP release for the same price from the same retailer.

Also at Amazon you can buy the PS3 (click here), Wii (click here), or XBox 360 (click here) versions for £22.97 each.

The PlayStation 3 originally had a 60GB hard drive, then a 40GB one was released, and now we have an 80GB console that replaces them both. How ruddy bloody confusing, especially with rumors that there will be an ever bigger hard drive at some point in the near future!

After some initial teething problems, the system has firmly established itself as one of the best around. Fanboys may argue until the sun goes down, but you can’t dispute that there are least a few very good titles available for it.

Argos are selling the PlayStation 3 80GB console, with two games, for £299.96 – but you have to do some clicking to get this price. Click here for the system, click here for Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, click here for Little Big Planet, and click here for the PS3 Mega Pack (adding them all to the basket will make the total come to £299.96).

We are but weeks from Christmas now, and there’s been no sign of any console shortages…yet! It still wouldn’t surprise me one bit if stocks begin to run low, but I could be wrong.

Anyway, the Wii is known by everyone as the system that revolutionised gaming in a way that no other has. This is more to do with the fact that anyone can pick up a Wii Remote and play, than it is with a great catalogue of cheap games (which it doesn’t have).

Instore at Morrisons you can pick up a Nintendo Wii console for £159.99, until the 5th of November. All come with a Wii Remote and a copy of the brilliantly fun Wii Sports.

FIFA 09 £19.99

In the run up to Christmas last year, Play.com ran a "deal of the day" offer where there was one very good bargain to be had every single day of the week – and it appears as though it’s back again for 2008.

FIFA 09 is up for grabs for a top price until the end of Monday the 3rd of November, and it’s well worth picking up. Not only has it improved greatly since the last version, but it’s actually better than this year’s Pro Evolution! Shocking!

Click here to get the PlayStation 3 release, click here for the Wii version, or click here to buy the XBox 360 release – all of which are £19.99 each at Play.com.
