Cheap Games

Buzz!: The Mega Quiz

Buzz!: The Mega Quiz is the fourth entry in the Buzz! series, and comes with a further 5,000 questions for you to answer. Interestingly, Europe was used as a testing ground to see how popular these kind of titles would be – with this being the first to be released in North America.

If you’ve yet to try any of these games, they are a little bit like Trivial Pursuit (minus the coloured triangle nonsense) created specifically with multiplayer gaming in mind. It should be noted, however, that you need the buzzers to be able to play this in the first place.

XBox 360 Premium

If you’re considering getting an XBox 360 and want to download games from XBox Live, save media, or just not have to worry about where to store your saved data for any cheap games, then the XBox 360 Premium would be ideal.

This version comes with a 20GB hard drive (which can be upgraded if you feel that you need even more space), a wireless controller and a headset. Although it’s much smaller than the newer Premium model, this should be just fine for most casual gamers.

Choices UK have this system available for £119.99 – for more information, click here.

Skate 2

Skate 2 is the sequel to one of the surprise hits of 2007, and goes by the saying "if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it" – which isn’t to say that it’s exactly the same, as it accomplishes the almost impossible task of making old gameplay feel fresh.

Double the amount of tricks are available to perform, and there’s also a vastly improved online multiplayer mode. Various downloadable packs can be bought as well which allow you to try out new arenas and buy new gear for your skater.

If you fancy this XBox 360 game, click here to buy it for £22.98 from Gamestation.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 (PS3) is one of the best cheap games in the golf genre    Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 (XBox 360)

The price of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 seems to be getting lower and lower with every passing week, but this isn’t to say that it’s a bad game – far from it in fact, as it’s probably better than Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08.

You may be glad to hear that the online mode has been improved a great deal, and is now a much better experience all round. You’ll be slightly less glad to hear that Tiger Woods’ real-life coach is on-hand to give advice if and when you need it.

Click here to get the PlayStation 3 release, or click here for the XBox 360 version – both of which are £16.98 each at Gameplay.

XBox 360 Wireless Headset

Although you can use the headset that comes with your XBox 360 console, the XBox 360 Wireless Headset is much better. Not only does it look futuristic in a Buck Rogers style, it also has much clearer sound than the other one. Which is nice.

Any games that have the Voice Command feature should be a lot more enjoyable with this as well, and no wires means that you’re not forced to sit in the same position for ages!

Amazon are selling this useful device for £24.99 – click here for more details.

The Gamestation Spring sale, Play.com May Day Madness video game sale, and The Hut May Madness video game sale all have some new company in the form of the Asda Bank Holiday Blowout video game sale.

I have a feeling retailers are struggling to come up with new names!

After turning to the dark side (only joking!), Argos have partnered with The Hut Group to create a brand new site. To celebrate this fact, there’s an Argos Entertainment 10% discount code that is valid for a very limited time.

Simply spend any amount and enter ARGOS10 at the checkout between now and Tuesday the 5th of May to get your money off.

Click here to see what they to offer – usually The Hut Group have plenty of cheap games, and this new site appears to be no different.

UPDATE: This discount has been extended until Tuesday the 5th of May 2009.

Nintendo Wii (With Wii Play And An Accessory Pack)

The sad news that Nintendo were bumping up the recommended price of the Wii by £20 seems to have little effect on retailers, as they seem more than prepared to keep selling at around £179.99 – fair play to them, but I’m not sure how long they’ll be so generous for.

It’s great then that this new bundle has appeared. For £176.19 you get a Nintendo Wii, with Wii Play and an accessory pack which comes with different things to put your Wii Remote in (steady!).

Click here to buy this from Argos, selecting "Offer 1" from the "Special offers" tab. Remember that Wii Play comes with its own Wii Remote, which technically means that you get two with this deal.

As if there weren’t enough top bargains around at the moment to lighten your wallet somewhat, there’s now a Play.com May Day Madness video game sale to contend with!

Rest easy though, as this one isn’t all that big…
