Call Of Duty Trilogy £9.99

It’s all well and good the next-generation platforms having big fancy versions of Call Of Duty, but we shouldn’t forget how great the original trilogy was as well.

The Call Of Duty collection contains copies of Call Of Duty: Finest Hour, Call Of Duty 2: Big Red One, and Call Of Duty 3. Each are set during World War II, albeit at different times during the event.

Elite Beat Agents £4.99

Elite Beat Agents sees you tapping and dragging on indicated locations on the DS touch screen in time to the rhythm of the music, in order to score points. While you’re doing this, the top screen shows comic-style scenes of people in tough situations get cheered up.

All of the tracks are cover versions of popular songs by artists such as the Village People, Madonna, David Bowie and The Rolling Stones.

PES 2009: Pro Evolution Soccer £26.99

FIFA 09 may have beaten Pro Evolution this year, but that doesn’t mean that PES 2009: Pro Evolution Soccer is an awful game – far from it, as it’s as good as last year’s entry (it’s just that E.A. have done more to improve FIFA).

An excellent introduction is a full-scale Champions League, complete with authentic music and introductions. It’s a shame that the online play still hasn’t been fixed though, as it’s a bit laggy at times.

WWE Smackdown Vs Raw games always make an appearance just before Christmas, and this year is no different. Although there aren’t too many new things in WWE Smackdown Vs Raw 2009, there’s enough to keep fans everywhere interested.

The Inferno match makes its debut, tag team matches have been revamped, and there are three new game modes – Create-A-Finisher, Road To WrestleMania, and Career. You may also be happy to hear that downloadable content is on the way, in the form of new wrestlers and attire (as well as "special in-game events", whatever that means).

Click here to buy the PlayStation 3 version for £29.99 from Argos (which also comes with a free Shawn Michaels DVD, while stocks last). This is one of those cheap games that will appeal to fans of the WWE and probably those who enjoy beat-em-ups too.

Final Fantasy XII £1.99

Many of the games in the Final Fantasy series are classics, and Final Fantasy XII is no exception. With beautiful graphics, interesting scenarios, a great game system, and a freshness that’s been missing from the series for some time, this is brilliant stuff from beginning to end.

It takes place in the fictional location of Ivalice, where the empire of Archadia is conquering surrounding kingdoms and about to go to war with the land of Rozarria. Dalmasca is caught in the middle of this and, by chance, one of its inhabitants is caught up in the adventure – and this is where you come in…

Pop in to Game and pick up this PlayStation 2 title for only £1.99.

FIFA 09 From £14.93

As a longtime semi-fanboy of Pro Evolution, it almost pains me to say that this year’s FIFA is much better than PES 2009: Pro Evolution Soccer. Konami simply haven’t done enough to improve on the last one, whereas E.A. appear to be listening to what the fans want to see.

The "Be A Pro" mode is a great little idea, where you take control of one player throughout his career and help build up his stats. Combined with some excellent online multiplayer play, as well as the standard career options, this is football gaming at its best.

Click here to get the PS2 version for £14.93 from Asda. They also have the DS (click here) and PSP (click here) releases for the same price.

Wii owners can get their version for £17.73 from The Hut by clicking here, whilst HMV are selling the PlayStation 3 (click here) and XBox 360 (click here) releases for £24.99 each.

Left 4 Dead £29.97

Fighting the undead is always fun, and Left 4 Dead promises more of this – just now you’ll be able to do it as part of a team. Let’s see if it can come anywhere near to matching Resident Evil 4, which is easily one of the best titles of all time.

Working with three others (either human or AI controlled) you must fight through various scenarios to make it to safety which could be difficult as the futher you progress, the more harder to kill the evil buggers become.

If you fancy this XBox 360 game, click here to preorder it for £29.97 from Amazon.

SimCity Creator From £12.71

SimCity Creator follows the same basic SimCity formula that sees you managing a city and placing residential, commercial, and industrial buildings alongside facilities such as police stations, hospitals, and stadiums.

However, you can also now customise the look of the buildings by giving them different themes – from Egyptian or Roman styles through to ones that look like confectionary.

The Hut are selling the DS version for £12.71 – for more information, click here. Wii owners can click here to buy their release for £17.99 from Game.

XBox 360 Elite (With Two Games And An Extra Wireless Controller) £239

Out of the three different systems available, the XBox 360 Elite is considered the choice for the hardcore gamer. This is because it comes with a much bigger hard drive, one that is in fact double the size of the Premium at 120GB.

The other noticeable difference is that everything comes in black. The console itself, the wireless controller, and the wireless headset are all this colour, and look very nice too.

Instore at Gamestation you can pick up the XBox 360 Elite, with two games and an extra wireless controller, for £239. The two titles in question are great, as they’re Fable II and Fallout 3.
