Cheap Games

At the moment there’s a couple of Argos vouchers that are well worth taking advantage of, especially if you have any last-minute Christmas shopping to do.

Enter AFD10 at the checkout to get free delivery, and XMASDISCOUNT to save £5 when spending £50 or more or £10 when spending £100 or more.

Click here to visit their site, and remember that using both together will give you even bigger savings.

This takes the PSP Slime And Lite, with two games, down to £97.59 from £107.59 (2.5% VAT comes off too). Other things to consider are a black, green, pink, red, silver, turquoise, or white DS Lite for £90.77, or a Nintendo Wii for £166.16.

PlayStation 3 80GB Console (With Four Games) £289.99

With Christmas now only a couple of weeks away, retailers are working overtime to try and get you to part with your hard-earned money. Console deals are now a daily event, and games have hit some of the lowest price-points that I’ve seen in some time.

Sony have announced that they aren’t going to reduce the PS3 any time soon, but many places seem to have done it for them instead. Most have thrown in at least a game or two as well, which is nice.

Instore at Game you can currently get a PlayStation 3 80GB console, with four games, for £289.99. Fallout 3, Little Big Planet, Lost: The Video Game, and Resistance 2 are the included titles.

There’s a Zavvi instore clearance on at the moment, with most savings to be made on hardware items. Apparently this is stock they had from distributor Entertainment UK, who have gone into administration, that needs to be shifted before new stuff comes in.

Good chance to pick up an XBox 360 for under £100, I think you’ll agree.

Wii Music £23

One of the biggest disappointments on the Wii thus far has to be Wii Music. The very fact that you don’t actually have to push certain buttons at certain times should tell you everything you need to know, although I’m sure this is good news for young children and older adults.

Over 66 different instruments can be played across a total of 52 songs, which include the themes from "Animal Crossing" and the original "Super Mario Brothers".

Pop in to Asda and pick this up for £23.

Carnival: Funfair Games £9.99

Proving that people will buy pretty much anything, Carnival: Funfair Games has sold over a million copies since its release in 2007. This makes it a better seller than high-profile Wii games like Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition, even though reviews have been mediocre at best.

A total of 25 mini-games can be played either alone or with a friend, and consist of things you might find at a real funfair – "Alley Bowling", "Lucky Cups", "Hoops", "Day At The Races", etc.

Click here to buy this title for £9.99 from Amazon. One of those cheap games that is best for younger gamers, or those new to the world of Wii.

FaceBreaker £9.99

Fans of Ready 2 Rumble boxing might think that FaceBreaker would be just as good, considering they share the same cartoon-style graphics. Sadly it’s not, mainly down to the stupidly hard AI which makes single player almost completely unplayable.

The title comes from the fact that you can "break" your opponents face through the real-time facial deformation feature. Multiplayer is the best mode in this, although an online option would have made this even better.

To get the PS3 version for £9.99 from Play.com, simply click here. XBox 360 owners can click here to get their release for the same price, from the same retailer.

Lego Batman: The Video Game £16.89

If you’ve played any of the Lego games before, then you’ll know what to expect from Lego Batman: The Video Game – if you haven’t, then it’s a very tongue-in-cheek title that features The Caped Crusader and his trusty sidekick Robin, along with some of the best known villains that inhabit Gotham City.

Wih plenty of replay value you’ll return to this again and again, as there’s even more to do than in any of the Lego Star Wars or Lego Indiana Jones games.

Sendit.com have the Wii (click here), PlayStation 3 (click here), and XBox 360 (click here) releases available for £17.89 – however, by using the Sendit.com £1 discount voucher you can get the price down to £16.89.

XBox 360 Arcade (With Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts) £129.99

Being that there are a fair number of different console offers around, it can be difficult deciding which one to get. When it comes to the XBox 360 my advice is to get the Arcade if you’re new to gaming, the Premium if you’re a casual/normal gamer, or the Elite if you’re somebody who spends more time gaming than anything else.

This particular deal is for the smallest of the three, the Arcade. This is the only model that comes with five titles in the box (Boom Boom Rocket, Feeding Frenzy, Luxor 2, Pac-Man and Uno), but there’s no hard drive – unless, of course, you take up Microsoft’s offer of an XBox 360 20GB hard drive for £12.99.

If you fancy an XBox 360 Arcade, with Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, click here to buy one for £129.99 from Play.com.

XBox 360 60GB Premium Console (With Three Games) £198.49

With new deals appearing every day, it’s getting difficult to decide when to get an XBox 360. My advice to you is that the best bet is to always choose a bundle that has games in it that you’ll play – there’s nothing worse than having crap games that you never even look at.

Thankfully today’s offer has some excellent titles that everybody should enjoy, although I will add that they are probably not suitable for kids. That should be kind of obvious though!

Click here to get the XBox 360 60GB Premium console, with three games, for £198.49 from Game. The titles included are Far Cry 2, Gears Of War, and Gears Of War 2.
