Cheap Games

Test Drive: Unlimited has something for everyone, in that it features both cars and bikes. With over 125 licensed vehicles on board, I’m sure you’ll find your favourite in amongst them.

It’s quite in-depth as well, with over 1000 miles of total driving space and in this respect rivals even Grand Theft Auto IV for sheer size. There’s also a great online multiplayer mode as well.

Wheelman £29.99

Here’s a somewhat interesting fact for you – did you know that Vin Diesel owns his own game company? Tigon Studios produce games which star the bald behemoth, and Wheelman is the next release featuring him.

In it you play the part of an undercover agent who must infiltrate the Barcelona underworld to gather intelligence about a covert heist. Posing as a driver-for-hire, you end up caught between corruption and chaos…

HMV have this PS3 title up for pre-order at the price-point of £29.99 – click here for more details.

If you’re looking for an introduction into the world of XBox 360 gaming, but don’t fancy laying down a fair wedge for the privilege, then the XBox 360 Arcade Pack could be ideal.

This contains the console, a 256MB memory unit, XBox Live silver membership and five arcade games (Boom Boom Rocket, Feeding Frenzy, Luxor 2, Pac-Man: Championship Edition and UNO). Sadly there’s no hard drive, although you can probably pick one up quite cheaply second hand.

Instore at John Lewis you can currently get this bundle for £99, which is very reasonable.

FIFA Street 3 £17.99

The FIFA games have improved greatly in more recent times (take FIFA 08, for example), so why EA insist on bringing out FIFA Street games, I’ll never know. "It doesn’t work, move on" would be my advice to them.

For a start, none of the players even slightly resemble their real-life counterparts – Peter Crouch looks like a bloody giraffe, for crying out loud! Add this together with some dodgy gameplay and you have one stinker of a footy title.

Play.com have both the PlayStation 3 (click here) and XBox 360 (click here) versions available for £17.99 each. Not a couple of cheap games that I can recommend, unless you want a laugh at how bad it is.

Old arcade games are still great fun to play, even now. Classics like Defender, Rampage, Paperboy and Smash TV are more playable than certain titles that have just been released (I’ll name no names, *cough* Iron Man *cough*).

Midway Arcade Treasures contains over 20 of these classic games, all in one convenient collection. You also get some bonus stuff like interviews and retro music.

If you fancy this XBox title, click here to get it for just 99p from The Game Collection (it won’t, however, work on your XBox 360).

Stunts are great – if I could be anything other than the sexy beast that I am, I would be a stuntman. I probably wouldn’t be very good mind you, but it’s a dream. A dream that can be lived out, in a virtual sense, with Stuntman: Ignition.

This game does pretty much what it says on the tin. You perform a variety of mad stunts in order to become the world’s best. After you’ve done that, take the challenge online and beat your friends as well.

Argos Clearance

Great, it’s about time for another sale to start – this time it’s an Argos clearance (although, if we’re being honest, Argos seem to be running a clearance sale every other week).

There’s some tat, but there’s also some top bargains – highlighted them for you below, I have.

PS3

Ratchet & Clank: Tools Of Destruction £14.99

Wii

Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition £19.73

XBox 360

Mass Effect £9.99
Scene It: The Movie Trivia Game £14.99
XBox 360 20GB Hard Drive £49.99

Not a lot, but each of the games are well worth getting.

UPDATE: Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition has appeared at a great price.

There’s a few animal games available for the DS, but none have quite hit the heights of popularity that the Nintendogs series has. Probably something to do with Nintendo making this one themselves, instead of farming it out to a dodgy developer.

Nintendogs: Dachshund & Friends lets you train up and look after a Dachshund or six other types of dog. Play games with it and enter competitions in order to win money – this can then be used to buy supplies and even more dogs to keep yours company.

CD-WOW are selling this title for £16.99 – for more information, click here.

Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare £29.99

Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is one of the best titles available on any console. Full stop. It is literally one of the greatest games you’ll ever play – which might sound like hyperbole, but it’s true!

With an excellent single player campaign and an even better online multiplayer mode, it’s quite simply the complete game. Buy it now!

Burnout: Paradise £19.98

Burnout: Paradise is one of the best racing games available on either the PlayStation 3 or XBox 360. I think that the ability to absolutely destroy your own car and others around you is one of the things that make it so good.

Even with the appearance of Race Driver: Grid (which is still priced at £29.99, by the way), the online mode alone is worth buying this for. The chance to smash up your friends around the world is something I myself cherish dearly. I am a bit weird though.

To get the PS3 version click here, or for the XBox 360 release click here – both of which are £19.98 delivered each from DVD.co.uk.
