Cheap Games

The Guitar Hero series is such a simple idea, and yet it works so well – push buttons in time to your favourite rock tunes.

Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock is the latest game and includes songs from such artists as Guns ‘N Roses, Metallica and The Kaiser Chiefs.

Click here to buy the PlayStation 2 release (minus the guitar) for £17.99 from Play.com – if you’re interested in any of other Guitar Hero games, take a look here (I believe Guitar Hero II has gone since that post was made).

PlayStation 3 game Heavenly Sword is a mixture of button-bashing fighting and Tom Raider style problem-solving – combined together, they make for an interesting experience.

With the power of the PS3 behind it this looks stunning, especially if you have a high definition telly.

The Wii almost seems as though it was designed for games like Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08.

As you’d expect, you use the Wii Remote like you would use a golf club – try not to throw it if you muck up your shot though!

Mercury Meltdown Remix £4.99

For players that may not know how to play Mercury Meltdown, the concept is easy to grasp but tricky to master. Players will start in one Laboratory, and will unlock others as they progress through the various levels that comprise that stage of the game. Taking control of a blob of mercury, you’ll be forced to navigate levels with an assortment of traps, pitfalls and other hazards, which can strip sections of mercury away from the main blob. A gauge on the left side of the screen indicates how much mercury remains on a level at any point in time, and there’s a line indicator that lets you know how much mercury you have to keep so you can activate pressure plates, switches and other objects in the world. There’s a time crunch on completing the puzzles within each level as well: A countdown timer lets you know what the average time is to finish a stage. If you manage to reach the finishing zone in time, you receive a happy face within the timer; if you take too long, an angry face takes its place.

ShopTo have PS2 title Mercury Meltdown Remix available for only £4.99 – click here for more details on how to buy this game.
