Cheap Games

Hardcore Batman fans may take some objection to Lego Batman: The Video Game turning sinister villains into bumbling idiots, but for everyone else this game is a riot from start to finish – if you’ve played any of the other titles in the Lego series, you’ll know exactly what I mean.

You take control of Batman and Robin to fight some of Gotham City’s most notorious criminals, including The Joker, The Penguin, Catwoman, Scarecrow, and many more. An interesting thing to note is that the soundtrack to the game is the same one used in Tim Burton’s first Batman movie, which adds quite a bit to the experience.

The Choices UK games clearance has been on for a couple of weeks now, but there wasn’t really anything worth mentioning in it – a few crappy PC titles and some cheapo PS2 games basically.

However, they’ve added some very decent titles to it today across all platforms. Be quick though, as stock is low and running out faster than a very fast thing.

The Legend Of Spyro: Dawn Of The Dragon is the third and final installment in The Legend Of Spyro trilogy, and is also celebrating the tenth anniversary of the birth of Spyro as a video game character.

Once free from his imprisonment, the Dark Master unleashes his wrath upon the world – Spyro must discover abilities beyond that of the elements and unlock the true power of the purple dragon within him, in order to stop the Dark Master and fulfill his destiny.

Game have the DS version available for £14.67 – for more information, click here. You can also get the PlayStation 2 release for the same price instore at Game.

We haven’t finished yet, as you can get the Wii (click here) version for £17.61 from Game as well. PS3 owners can click here to buy their version for £19.56, whilst XBox 360 gamers need to go instore to get their copy for the same price.

XBox 360 Premium (With Five Games) £188.49

When the XBox 360 Premium was originally released it came with a 20GB hard drive, until just recently when Microsoft decided to do something nice (for a change!) and bump it up to a 60GB one.

This should be enough space for the average gamer, but anyone who feels as though they need more space would probably be better off going for an Elite console.

Click here to get an XBox 360 Premium, wth five games, for £188.49. The included titles are Far Cry 2, Gears Of War, Gears Of War 2, Project Gotham Racing 4, and Sega Superstars Tennis.

It’s worth pointing out at this point that Legendary isn’t very good. Anyone who’s a big first-person shooter fan may get something out of it, but I doubt anyone else will.

Unskippabale cutscenes and pathetic action scenes are bad enough, but long loading times and a general feeling that the game isn’t complete are unacceptable.

If you fancy this XBox 360 game, click here to buy it for £19.57 from Gamestation. PlayStation 3 owners can click here to get their version for the same price, from the same retailer.

This price is valid until 1pm on Saturday the 6th of December, if you care (which I don’t).

Since Woolworths fell into administration, many stores have felt a knock-on effect – this is down to Woolies Entertainment UK distribution company also being handed over to administrators.

The reason I’m mentioning this is that Devil May Cry 4 is available for £11.99, but you won’t be able to order it online. Instead, I’m afraid to say you’ll have to brave our wonderful weather and venture outside (terrifying, I know).

Instore at Zavvi you can get either the PlayStation 3 or XBox 360 releases for this price, where you can find stock.

Blockbuster Christmas Clearance

There’s a Blockbuster Christmas clearance on at the moment, both online and off.

Chances are that if something’s out of stock on their site, then you’ll more than likely be able to get it instore.

Lost Odyssey £9.99

It’s fair to say that the Final Fantasy series has been lagging for some time now, so the appearance of Lost Odyssey on the XBox 360 is a welcome one. I say that because it’s made by the original creator of Final Fantasy, and hankers back to what originally made it great.

Playing as a one thousand year old bloke who’s lost his memory might seem a bit strange, but the gripping storyline and exciting battles make for one of the most underrated games on the console.

Pop in to Gamestation and pick this up for £9.99.

Is Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare one of the best games in the last couple of years? In terms of online multiplayer titles, the answer is a resounding "YES!". I doubt you’ll have as much fun shooting the crap out of people this side of a lengthy jail term.

The single player campaign is also very good, but it’s definitely the multiplayer mode that will keep you coming back for more.

To get the PlayStation 3 version click here, or for the XBox 360 release click here – both are £29.99 each at Argos. Incidentally both feature in multibuy discounts (the PS3 release in a 2 for £50 and the 360 version in a 2 for £45 offer), so if you find anything else of interest you’ll get the game for even less.

UPDATE: I’m bumpin this up a bit, as it’s still the same price – and is oddly still the cheapest, even though the game has been out for over a year!
