Sega Superstars Tennis £9.99

If the idea of a round of tennis against some of the most well known Sega characters of all time sounds like your cup of tea, then Sega Superstars Tennis is the game for you.

Along with the standard single player campaign and multiplayer options, there are a raft of mini-games on offer. Where this differs from others is that most of these are very enjoyable – battering zombies or indulging in some Virtua Cop action with tennis balls is some of the most fun you can have with your pants on.

Originally the XBox 360 Premium came with a 20GB hard drive, but Microsoft were feeling a bit funky and decided to turn the middle tier system into the XBox 360 60GB Premium (which means you get three times the amount of space than you got before).

With excellent titles being released on an almost weekly basis, it’s well worth getting hold of one. Thankfully these newer models have fewer problems than the older ones too, which is nice.

Instore at Asda you can pick up an XBox 360 60GB Premium, with two games, for £167. These aren’t just any old titles, mind you, but the new and excellent Fable II and PES 2009: Pro Evolution Soccer.

Anyone looking to make a big saving can look away now, as this The Hut money off voucher entitles you to a massive saving of £2 when you spend £15 or more.

If we’re being fair, it’s better than a kick in the pants – and something for nothing is always a good thing, especially when it comes to cheap games!

Console Deals

With Christmas on the horizon, it’s nice to see that there are still a few decent console deals available right now. That being said, it wouldn’t surprise me to see stocks running low nearer the big day, especially with Nintendo hardware.

Kicking it off we have the Nintendo DS Lite, which is easily the best handheld on the market today. With a great back catalogue, as well as the ability to play GBA titles, you’ll always find something suitable to play.

Click here to get the black system with a copy of Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain? and an essential kit (which contains a car power adapter, protective cases, and other useful stuff) for £99.97 from Argos. For a limited time you’ll also get a £5 gift voucher thrown in, free of charge.

The Nintendo Wii needs no real introduction, as every man and his dog either has one already or has read about it or seen it on television. It’s fair to say that this has changed gaming forever, if only because it’s got older people more involved.

A minor drawback is that there aren’t too many great titles available, but I have a felling that we’ll see some good stuff over the next couple of years.

Instore at Tesco you can get the console, with a selected game, for £179.97.

Meanwhile, at Blockbuster you can pick up the system with copies of FIFA 09 and Mario Kart Wii for £179.99.

Boogie (With Microphone) £17.99

The success of the SingStar series meant it was inevitable that at some point E.A. would try and cash in by bringing out their own version. Sadly Boogie isn’t all that good, as it feels a bit shallow and is far too easy.

Songs include tracks by such artists as Britney Spears, Pink, Black Eyed Peas, MC Hammer, and The Village People. It’s possibly worth getting this just to break out the baggy pants and bust a move to U Can’t Touch This.

Zavvi have Boogie (with a microphone) on the Wii available for £17.99 – click here for more details.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 £9.99

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 takes place in 2014, just one day after the events of the previous GRAW game. South of the American border there’s a conflict between Mexican rebels, Mexican loyalists, and the US Army – but there’s only 72 hours in which to stop the rebels from entering US soil.

The game modes are identical to those found in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, although in the online mutiplayer mode players can be critically injured (and healed) instead of just outright killed.

Project Gotham Racing 4 £9.99

Out of the many driving series’ around, Project Gotham Racing is definitely one of the best. With some exciting new features, this is quite possibly the best one yet.

The biggest new feature is the weather effects that affect the look of the game and the physics of the vehicles on the track. Five new cities appear, and for the first time ever you can now race on motorcycles as well as cars.

Clive Barker’s Jericho From £7.97

Clive Barker is well known for his horror novels and films, so the next obvious thing for him to do would be to write the story for a video game – with the result being Clive Barker’s Jericho.

A lost city has mysteriously reappeared in a remote desert, and has brought with it an evil that goes right back to the dawn of time. You control a Special Forces squad, trained in both conventional warfare and the arcane arts, who must hunt down and destroy it before it can destroy humanity.

Click here to get the XBox 360 release for £7.97, or click here to get the PlayStation 3 version for £13.56 – both are supplied by the good folks at Amazon.

Assassins Creed sees you taking the role of Altair, who is one of the feared assassins that intend to stop conflict between the two sides that make up the Third Crusade.

Although some have criticised this game for being a bit repetitive, it’s actually both visually stunning and quite difficult at times as well.

To buy the PS3 release for £9.99 from Play.com, simply click here. DS owners can click here to get their version for the same price from Comet.

The other day we featured Grand Theft Auto IV for £19.99 – sadly Play.com have decided to raise the cost, which is incredibly annoying. Damn you Play.com and your changeable prices!

If you’ve never heard of this game before, may I ask if you’ve been living under a rock? If you have, then it’s an open-world title where you can roam about and do pretty much anything you can imagine, right down to picking up hookers from some sexytime. You can also kill them as well, which is something that many frown upon.

HMV have the PlayStation 3 version priced at £24.99 – click here for more details on this cheap games‘ availability.
