Wolfenstein £9.98

Wolfenstein sees you play as BJ Blazkowicz, a highly decorated member of the Office Of Secret Actions, who is sent on a special mission into the heart of the Reich to investigate evidence that the Nazis may possess a new and mysterious power…

This sequel to Return to Castle Wolfenstein has an excellent single player campaign, although the multiplayer isn't fantastic – which is probably down to poor sales, which means few are online at any one time. An appearance on Charlie Brooker's Gameswipe on BBC4 the other month may have given this a boost though.

Taking place back on E.D.N. III ten years after the events of Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, the imaginatively titled Lost Planet 2 centres on an ongoing civil war to gain T-ENG (thermal energy) – with the Akrid returning expanded and having much more power.

Although reviews have generally been mixed, some interesting monster designs and an enjoyable multiplayer mode help cover up any faults. Those who enjoyed the original will probably get the most out of this, though newcomers shouldn't necessarily overlook it either.

HMV have the PlayStation 3 release available for £17.99 – for more information, click here. XBox 360 owners can click here to get their version for the same price from the same retailer.

Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening is an expansion pack for Dragon Age: Origins. This means that you'll need a copy of the game in order to be able to play this, so don't bother buying unless you already do (or plan to get it in the future)!

Anyway, this comes with an all-new area of the world to explore, in the shape of Amaranthine. You can also choose whether to import your character from the main game or start over as a Warden from Orlais.

Crackdown is an open world, third-person shooter conceived by the same guy behind Grand Theft Auto and Lemmings. Set in the fictional Pacific City, you control a cybernetically-enhanced Agent who is tasked with defeating three crime lords and their organised crime syndicates.

Upon its release in 2007, this was heralded as one of the finest superhero games ever made – a statement which possibly still holds true even now. The announcement that a sequel is on the way means that you really should take a look at this brilliant and unique XBox 360 exclusive.

Set in a stylised open-world 1940s Nazi-occupied Paris, The Saboteur sees you play as Irishman Sean Devlin who is on a mission to get vengeance against the evil regime – with the help of the French Resistance, British Intelligence and a massive arsenal of weaponry.

Although there is no multiplayer mode (something of a rarity these days), the single-player campaign is challenging enough to keep you coming back for more. Plenty of side missions also mean that it will take you a considerable amount of time to even begin getting anywhere near 100% completion.

The long-awaited sequel to one of the better games of 2007 is finally here, with the arrival of Assassin's Creed II. Whilst the original divided opinion between those who thought it was great and those who hated it, this one sets out to try and please everyone…

Bigger missions and more weapons are nice new additions, but it's things like Leonardo Da Vinci popping up as your inventor and clever battle elements which really separate this from Assassin's Creed – without sacrificing the positives from it.

Even though Gran Turismo 5: Prologue is basically only a sample of what Gran Turismo 5 promises to deliver when it's finally released, there's enough in it to make it one of the best racers on the PS3 – which means the full game should be nothing short of amazing.

It's interesting to note that this is being updated all the time with new tracks and cars, as well as brand new features never before seen in the long-running series. Up to 16 cars can race simultaneously now too, which makes for brilliant races.

Valkyria Chronicles is a PlayStation 3 exclusive action role-playing game that sees you taking control of a team of Gallian soldiers in a bid to reclaim your war-torn neutral nation from Imperial Alliance forces, and drive them from Gallian soil after they launched an invasion into the country.

Even though there hasn't been as much "buzz" around this as other games on the console, this is easily one of the best of its kind available on the market today – even though it's been out for well over a year now.
