Cheap Games

It might surprise you to learn that in order to use a PlayStation 3 you’ll need a controller. The Official Wireless Sony Black SIXAXIS Controller was the first to be released for the console.

Sadly it doesn’t include rumble feedback (although the DualShock 3 wireless controller does), but works just as any other PlayStation controller has. Well, to be precise.

If you fancy this, click here to get it for just £14.95 from The Game Collection.

Burnout: Dominator £7.99

Some of the best fun you can have is smashing your car into another one. Not in real life, of course, but in the Burnout series – with slow-motion replays from every angle, they really do look fantastic.

Burnout: Dominator takes what’s been right with every title in the series up to this point (getting rid of the annoying Crash mode in later games) and takes it to the next level. Great fun.

Titles like those in the NBA Live series never really change that much over time. Generally, you’ll get an updated roster and maybe one or two new features. If it ain’t broken, why fix it – right?

Well NBA Live 08 is pretty much what you’d expect. A newly updated roster is present and correct – however, you also get brand-new national teams to control and all-new NBA challenges from the 2006-2007 season.

SoftUK have this PlayStation 2 title priced at just £7.99 – for more information, click here.

NASCAR isn’t all that popular in this country, but for those that do enjoy it NASCAR 08 will be a game they will enjoy. Get ready to take the wheel of the new car and drive your way to the NEXTEL Cup championship!

An all-new career mode and the ability to test and tune your car until you are 100% satisfied with it makes for one heck of a driving experience.

PlayStation 3 owners might be interested to know that NASCAR 08 is currently available for £16.39. It’s not one of the better titles on the console, but it’s a good price.

UPDATE: On the 12th of July some more titles were added. How nice.

The 20th of July saw many new games added, including a whole host of GameCube and PSP titles.

Need For Speed: Prostreet is the best Need For Speed game in quite some time – this isn’t particularly difficult, as most of the other releases have been average to poor. Yes, even Carbon.

Although there’s no online multiplayer mode (which is quite unacceptable if you ask me), there’s a good variety of cars to choose from and a large amount of tracks to race on in different cities around the world.

Emergency Mayhem £17.99

Emergency Mayhem is a Wii exclusive title that mixes fast and frantic driving action with hilarious arcade mini-games. Great, another Wii game with loads of mini-games – how original.

Racing as either a fire truck, ambulance or police car, you can either play the single player Career mode or the Party mode (where up to four players can take part).

Ferrari Challenge is a racing game that features a range of Ferrari cars to choose from – I bet you’re surprised by that…not. There’s loads of vehicles as soon as you pop the game in, and even more to be unlocked as you go along.

A great idea implemented in this is that at the start of each new racing season new downloadable teams, cars, and content are made available. This ensures your game is up-to-date at all times.

Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen And The Tower Of Mirrors £17.99

Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen And The Tower Of Mirrors is the very first Dragon Quest title to appear on the Wii. What with the Wii Remote being handily designed like a sword, you won’t be surprised to learn you can use it just like one.

A beautiful musical score helps fully immerse you into the game, and the rich and vibrant 3D world looks pretty darn amazing as well.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots £25.98

Has Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots been over-hyped a little? Possibly yes, but does it really matter – if you were a fan of the series already, you’d have enjoyed it no matter what.

This last outing for Solid Snake isn’t a particularly long title – the new addition of Metal Gear Online gives you an almost entirely new game to play anyway!
