In Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures you can recreate all your favourite moments, with all the humor you’d expect in a Lego game,  from the first three Indiana Jones films.

Scenes involving Nazism have been altered to appeal to families, but this was to be expected. There’s six chapters per movie, with 83 regular characters to play as – each who have their own unique abilities.

Some have been critical of PES 2008 (Pro Evolution Soccer) for not having enough new improvements, however I’m of the belief that it’s E.A.’s fault – they’ve finally got their act together and started making the FIFA games we all wanted to see.

Although you’ll no doubt get annoyed by Mark Lawrenson’s commentary (who doesn’t?), this first appearance on the PS3 includes great graphics and a brilliant online multiplayer mode.

NHL 2K6 was actually the very first ice hockey simulation title to be released on the XBox 360. Considering that it came out in 2005, you can imagine that it’s since been surpassed by other games in the genre – it does make a cheap introduction to the series though.

I should probably warn you that there’s an annoying bug in the game, in which it freezes (surely not intentionally!) when you use the hard drive. To get round this either remove the hard drive when playing, or download the patch from XBox Live.

As far as basketball games go, the 2K series is right up there with anything E.A. have to offer. In fact, it would be fair to say that they’re actually often BETTER than NBA Live (insert year here).

NBA 2K7 came out in 2006, so the rosters will be quite old – however, the price is low enough to warrant a purchase to get to grips with how it plays.

Although it’s a little out-of-date, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 is well worth picking up while it’s available for a cheap price. It controls similarly to 08 (and probably 09), so there’s almost no learning curve.

There’s a total of 53 golfers to choose from, 32 of which are fictional, and 21 courses for you to play on – everything else is pretty much what was available in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08.

Dave Mirra BMX Challenge is a bit like Tony Hawk on a bike, except that this is much, much worse. Still if you’re a fan of the sport or the man himself, I’m sure you’ll get some enjoyment from the game.

Three modes are present (exhibition, quickplay, and career), with the career option having three levels of difficulty. There’s no multiplayer though, which is disappointing.

Good times.

Action role-playing game The World Ends With You makes full use of the unique features of the DS, as combat takes place across both screens and attacks are carried out by performing motions on the touchscreen or shouting into the microphone.

The battle system takes a little getting used to but the graphics, soundtrack, and integration of gameplay into the real-life setting of Shibuya more than make up for it. A genuinely brilliant game to play.

Haze £17.99

If you need any more proof that hype doesn’t always mean that something’s worthwhile, just take a look at PlayStation 3 title Haze. A huge advertising campaign is all well and good, but it would probably be an idea to make something at least halfway decent before sticking it on the shelf to buy.

It’s a first-person shooter with a serious tone, incorporating themes such as oppression and drug abuse. Mantel Global Industries have created a "nutritional supplement" that lets soldiers fight harder and smarter – you play as one of these soldiers who turns rogue and joins a group of rebels known as "The Promise Hand".

The Wall-E game is based on the movie of the same name. Interestingly, there are variations in the game based on which console you buy it for – something which you don’t see all that often.

On the Wii there are nine explorable worlds and three head-to-head multiplayer modes, the DS version features fourteen worlds and unlockable clips from the film, and for the PlayStation 2 release you can use music to summon help whilst travelling through the nineteen different worlds.

PSP owners might like to know that their release is also £17.99, but this time it’s part of the Powerplay Direct sale from a couple of weeks ago.
