When it comes to games that are both very long and very engaging, look no further than this BioShock and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion double pack – the latter of which has a single player campaign that will last for something like 100 hours!

Tagged as an award-winning combo, these two represent some of the best that the XBox 360 has to offer as a gaming platform. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion also has some additional downloadable content available which will extend the length even more…

BioShock 2 is the sequel to the critically-acclaimed BioShock, and is set a decade after the events of the original game. Your Big Daddy is one of the first of its kind, although reactivating with no knowledge of the past ten years, and scours the city of Rapture in a vain attempt to relocate the Little Sister it's been paired with…

As well as a gripping single-player mode which is every bit as exciting as the original, a brand-new multiplayer section is also included. This story-driven mode sees you take on the role of a splicer fighting in Rapture's Civil War in 1959, with five different variety of options (two of which have a single and team based mode).

Taking place on Earth in the year S.D. 0010, where the world is on the brink of destruction, Star Ocean: The Last Hope combines science fiction and fantasy elements spanning multiple planets and the vastness of space itself to recount the origins of the Star Ocean universe.

This PlayStation 3 exclusive version, titled Star Ocean: The Last Hope – International, comes with a multitude of language options to satisfy fans around the world. Also included is a range of new content, plus a tweaked combat system…

Lost Odyssey £9.95

With the creator of Final Fantasy (Hironobu Sakaguchi) behind it, you'd expect Lost Odyssey to be something of an epic – and you'd be right. The traditional turn-based battle system from earlier incarnations of Final Fantasy also returns, just to strike home how old-school this is in feel.

You take control of a character known as Kaim, who has lived for a thousand years but has no memory of his past. He doesn't even want to think about what might have happened, and struggles with the pain brought on when they start to return.

SingStar: Take That £3.99

SingStar: Take That does exactly what it say on the tin, by providing 25 of the group's greatest hits for you to sing along with – and if you're a little bit shy, another person can join in the "fun" (handy for times when you may have had one or two lemonades too many!).

Some of the tunes will be recognisable to near enough everybody, but it's worth pointing out that a handful are perhaps less common – though fans will have no problem with the lyrics…

Two Games for £25

At this moment in time there are a couple of two games for £25 promotions running at Zavvi and Play.com – with the ability to mix and match console titles being a very nice bonus.

The games included are near-enough identical, though the Zavvi deal includes Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction and Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands whilst the Play one has Metro 2033 – both have Mass Effect 2, Left 4 Dead 2 and Dante's Inferno though.

To try and combat the increase in size of the PlayStation 3, Microsoft released yet another console to add to an already crowded bunch – this time calling it the XBox 360 250GB Super Elite, which shouldn't be confused with the newer XBox 360 250GB console.

Three different packages are available, each with an excellent game included. When I say that I really mean it too, as the titles are Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Final Fantasy XIII or Forza Motorsport 3…

If you fancy the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 bundle, click here to buy it for £159.99 from Game. Both the Final Fantasy XIII (click here) and Forza Motorsport 3 (click here) sets are also the same price from the same retailer.

After being rumored for some time, the Sony PlayStation 3 120GB slim console was officially released the other year. Not only is this much smaller in size than the original 80GB model, but you also get an additional 40GB of hard drive space on which to store stuff.

The main criticism of this is that it looks a wee bit on the ugly side, but I'm sure that most people won't give a damn! It consumes less power as well, which means you'll be doing your bit for the environment (sort of) when playing cheap games.

While it's certainly no FIFA, Pure Football is at least an attempt to do something slightly different than the standard football game – with five-a-side action instead of the usual 11 (which may be recognisable to those few people who tried out FIFA Street).

17 different international teams are available to play as, plus a further three legends squads – Germany 80&90, USA 94 and World. Just don't expect the same kind of quality from more polished titles and you'll be fine (it is a budget title after all!).

WET £6.99

WET is a third-person shooter that sees you play as gun-for-hire Rubi Malone (voiced by the lovely Eliza Dushku) who agrees to find and bring back a wealthy man's wayward son – until the man who hired her turns out to be someone else entirely and she has to go on the run…

Whilst reviews of this have been mixed, and the lack of any multiplayer and/or online mode is a tad disappointing, if you're a fan of Tomb Raider style games then you're sure to like this just as much.
