Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 from £19.99

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the sixth entry in the Call of Duty series, and has a storyline that serves as a direct sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. To say that this was being hotly anticipated would be a huge understatement…

The single player campaign is not any longer than that in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, as the emphasis is on the multiplayer aspect – rightly so, as this is what gamers enjoy the most about the series. However, the new "Special Ops" mode is good fun either alone or with a friend.

Skate 3 £14.99

There's always a danger that in making a sequel you either manage to try and do too many new things or not enough – thankfully the developers of Skate 3 have been sensible, and only tweaked bits that needed improving (imagine that, eh?).

The tutorial and in-game aids now let you get into the game without too much trial and error, plus there are two new modes in the form of "Easy" and "Hardcore" which differ from opposite ends of the difficulty scale – the feature to build your own skateparks is also a welcome addition.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare £9.99

If there's only one thing I can say about Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, it's that if you don't own a copy then you must be prepared to crawl across broken glass to get one – it's simply the best game made in quite some time. Even better than Sensible Soccer, if you can believe such a thing is possible!

An intense single player campaign would have been enough for most, but the inclusion of an online multiplayer mode which takes the very idea to new heights makes this unmissable. Even though the sequel has rightly been heralded as excellent, it's still well worth giving this a go…
