Donkey Kong: Jet Race

With the release of the Wii, us gamers are becoming more used to "wacky" games than ever before. It’s not even always the games themselves that are mental, just the controls - case in point, Donkey Kong: Jet Race. You need to use the Wii Remote and Wii Nunchuk almost like drumsticks!

It’s basically a racing title where you compete against other characters from the Donkey Kong universe in order to race to victory. You can also compete against three friends in the comfort of your own home (sadly there’s no online multiplayer).

Wii Console

Fancy a Wii? I’d advise anyone still on the fence to get one before Christmas, as I have no doubt that the scenes of the last two years will probably be repeated again this year - there’s some good deals around just now as well.

One decent offer can be found instore at Zavvi, where you can pick up the Wii Console (which comes with a Wii Remote, a Wii Nunchuk and a copy of Wii Sports) and Super Smash Brothers: Brawl for £180.

Essentially this means you’re getting Super Smash Brothers: Brawl for free - which is pretty darn nice.

Space Invaders Extreme

Space Invaders is one of the all-time classic video games - I doubt that there’s anyone in the world over 21 who hasn’t at least tried it once. It’s one of those games that is still quite addictive now, albeit in small doses.

Instead of just giving you the basic experience, Space Invaders Extreme takes it to the next level. Futuristic graphic design and cutting-edge audio, overhauled gameplay details, and some new power-ups make for a great little title.

Asda are selling this PSP game for £12.93 - for more information, click here.

Iron Man

Iron Man was one of the slightly less popular comic book superheroes, but that hasn’t stopped Marvel producing an excellent cinematic version of it. Sadly, the same can’t be said for the game - it’s bad (we’re talking Fantatsic Four: Flight Of The Silver Surfer bad, people!).

It’s your typical third-person shooter, with lots of stuff to do. The fact that this is the only good thing about the game should tell you enough. Fans may be interested though…

Halo 3: Legendary Edition

The Halo series of games, exclusive to XBox consoles, has been a fantastic journey thus far. Halo 3 was hotly anticipated for some time, and Bungie and company didn’t let us down - it’s one of the best titles available for the XBox 360.

The Halo 3: Legendary Edition contains a copy of the game, two discs full of bonus content (which have "making of" documentaries, behind-the-scenes videos and a brilliant option to watch remastered cinematic material from the first two Halo games), some storyboard art - all found in a collectible Spartan helmet case.

If you fancy this set, click here to get it for the incredibly low price of £33.95 delivered from Simply Games.

PaRappa The Rapper

It’s unusual for a game to invent a new genre, but PaRappa The Rapper did just that - creating the music and rhythm stuff that has been used in many games since.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the release of the original, this PSP title is faithful in every respect. The only real additions are the ability to compete against other players via wireless head-to-head battles, and there’s also some new songs to download.

Kim Possible: Global Gemini

Kim Possible: Global Gemini, on the DS, is based on the Disney TV show Kim Possible (surprisingly enough). Kids everywhere should love this, but I’m thinking that girls will probably like it more than boys. I could be wrong though.

When Gemini escapes from jail, it’s up to you to stop him from rebuilding his evil empire and brainwashing Global Stations around the world. Travel the world and bring Gemini to justice!

DVD.co.uk have this title available for £11.32 - click here for more details.

BlahDVD Sale

The bad news is that you’ll probably end up spending ore money, the good news is that there’s yet another sale on - this time it’s a BlahDVD sale that has a few things of interest.

So many sales, so little time (and money!).

Killzone: Liberation

With Killzone 2 coming up soon for the PlayStation 3, PSP owners may wish to take a look at Killzone: Liberation (especially at this ridiculously low price). It’s exclusively on the handheld system as well, which is nice.

Following the end of the very first Killzone, the battle against the Helghast is still raging on. Metrac (the Helghast General) is employing brutal measures in order to seize the initiative - returning as Templar, it’s your job to save hostages captured by the maniac… whilst ISA troops continue the fight for liberty.

Big HMV Sale

There’s a big HMV sale on at the moment - they have one roughly every six months, so the next big one will be in December or Januray. Probably.

I’ve gone through the many on offer and highlighted the best deals, as I’m nice like that. However, I may miss some bargains so click here to take a look at the full list.
