Manhunt 2 £24.99

After initially being banned for too much violence, Manhunt 2 is coming out on the 31st of October. The main criticisms levelled at both this and the first one are the seemingly realistic ways in which victims are murdered – apparently this might influence people to try it themselves.

Although Manhunt was acclaimed for pushing the envelope and being a great gaming experience, this sequel is not quite as good. The story is weaker and it’s a bit forgettable, but it is as grim and brutal as its predecessor.

After promises that Infinite Undiscovery would contain 10 years worth of ideas that would ensure "RPGs will undergo a true evolution", the reality is that it could have been so much better. It’s enjoyable and intriguing, but the combat isn’t really satisfying and the voice talent haven’t been used well.

The XBox 360 brings to life a world that changes in real-time and the story will give you around 30 hours worth of gameplay, but as I said before you just get the feeling that there’s something missing.

Gamestation have this title available for £19.99 – for more information, click here.

If you’re more of a casual fan of ice hockey, then NHL 2K8 is perhaps more suitable than the harder-to-play NHL series from E.A. That’s not to say that this is too easy, just that the controls take less time to get used to.

This version has a few new improvements over NHL 2K7 with the main ones being improved goalies, a new face-off system, better graphics, authentic equipment, and a new skating engine.

The Eye Of Judgment (With PlayStation Eye Camera) £39.99

A turn-based card game sounds like a bit of a weird idea for a video game, but The Eye Of Judgment works quite well. This is also the first title to make use of the PlayStation Eye camera, which comes included in this bundle.

Using the "9 Fields" table mat and special trading cards, you conquer a playfield by employing various creatures and spells. Take turns playing cards of your choice on the mat and perform actions that are captured through the camera in order to occupy more than half the field to win the match.
